So far, so good.
Edit: desert season started and I was finally able to use this on my truck. Aired down and back up twice on 4 265/75/r16's and it worked great. Definitely heat up though! Enough to burn my hand if I touched it for more than a second, but it never shut down so it was clearly functioning as it was designed. Took about 1 minite to air up from 20psi back to 32psi. Word of advice though... if you're not going to hook this up to a tank, I'd suggest adding a mechanical relief valve to your air line because this thing will run until it irreperably destroys itself if you set it up in such a way that it isn't constantly open (which I'd like to stress would be a failure of the person who installed it and not the actual product)-----------------------------Desert season hasn't started yet, so I'll have to come back and amend this review when I use it to air my actual truck tires back up from a target 20psi, but have had the opportunity to use it in a few cases.1. Bicycle tires air up great.2. Aired up my friend's truck tires as they were a little low.3. Have used it to air up a vessel I made for pressurized camp water. All three situations, this compressor rocked. As is, I mounted this into a front plate bumper on my Tacoma where a winch is supposed to go. I used 5 feet of 8 gauge AWG for my lead wire to a 20/40 amp relay connected to a 25 amp fuse and just grounded it to where my light bar mounts without having to extend the factory negative wire. Got an OEM style switch for the center console to run the relay and connected that to a 3 amp fuse. Yes, you're going to need to buy all this stuff separately. VIAIR can't predict how you're going to mount it, so don't accuse them of being cheap.Long story short, I'm more than happy with this compressor so far. It gets hot, but not too hot, and it handles load well. We'll see how it does out in the desert where I really need it to work and if it can tolerate the dirt and water I'm going to be throwing at it come fall/winter.

So far so good, UPDATE: GREAT
First impression after install is very good. The quality looks really good for the price. Used this to replace a vixen pump that was nothing but trouble. This one is much quieter, better built, and pumps a lot faster. Will update after a week or so of use.Update: it's been 4 weeks, since install ive had zero issues. Testing shows it fills roughly 3 times faster than vixen and only runs around 2 minutes to regulate 115psi to 140psi on my 7 gallon tank. Very impressed and will recommend.
