Shocked with daughters’ knowledge
Our 9-year old daughter has a severe Potter obsession. She has seen all the movies several times over, has read the books and collects Potter-stuff. She recently stumbled upon this Potter trivia game at the Harry Potter experience, where it was obviously sold at a big premium. So we urged her some patience and got her this set from Amazon as a gift to take along on holiday. It is pretty much a standard Trivial Pursuit set that can be used with the regular boxed game board - that obviously isn’t included given the size and shape of the box. It does however include its own die and strangely enough an extra circle shaped wedge container that can hold 6 non-included triangular trivia reward wedges - though there is no reference to it in the brief instructions. As such the game can be played alone, or with a few other players without the standard board - where you have to collect 6 cards to win the game.Alternatively it can be blended in with the standard Trivial Pursuit game and board - which we have done since, where the rest of us get non-Potter muggle questions and where our daughter works through the Potter cards when its her turn (which is not much fun given her expertise). There is a card with brief instructions as well. The only thing that really differentiates this set from the standard trivial pursuit set are of course the questions and the Potter logo on the box and 100 question cards. The age advise is +12 years but our 9-year old is delighted and reads/plays it very well. However these questions are hard and detailed! I’ve seen each of the movies several times though I haven’t read the books - but I only occasionally manage to answer a question correctly. The point is that there are many questions about specific spells, curses characters and artefacts with, as you can expect, very obscure names. You will need to know these to have some chance of winning. In fact, while I expected our daughter to have good knowledge about the source material I was stunned about the detailed level of her knowledge. Personally I do have a huge amount of useless knowledge after four decades of a Star Wars fascination but the knowledge that my daughter already gathered about Harry Potter might well go beyond this. She rarely fails to answer a question. And I suspect she will start to learn each question and answer by heart to fill in her blanks.Anyway this set is highly recommended to any Potter fan, it makes a great gift that they will appreciate very much.

Great for HP fans but a few errors
I had a great time with these, even when I had to Google the answers to prove that some of the answers on the cards are wrong! Ha

Hours of fun - could be more questions cards though
This a great game for any HP fan. You don't need a board to play so its ideal to keep the kids quiet in the back of the bar on that long journey to Cornwall for holiday. There is a good variety of question subjects- my only gripe would be there's not a huge amount of question cards given the subject matter they had to work with.Maybe a sequel would be beneficial- I mean come on the author managed to write 7 books..!

Fantastic all round family fun game for Potter fans.
I bought this for my daughter who is Harry Potter mad. Trying to find a product like this was quite testing as she has most Harry Potter items. The game is worth the money and was the cheapest by comparison. We have now spent a few weekends playing this game and are starting to remember the odd questions meaning we can keep up with our Potter mad daughter. Who by the way is 19 I would recommend this game for all ages as the questions range from easy for the younger years up to the more intense fans.

Perfect for any Harry Potter fan!
We love this as a family, either asking questions with the box alone on the go, in the car, or with the Trivial Pursuit Board at home. Family favourite!

Some repetition, Some vague answers.
These packs of specialised questions do require you to have some kind of extensive knowledge of the subject. This means these packs don't always work when pulled out at a group gathering. If you do like Harry Potter and have bought this to test your knowledge I think you'll actually find the questions fairly easy and some of the answers either vague (for example the answering being 'a monster' rather than the more specific name) or so convoluted that they are quite tricky to match the wording on the card.If anyone has watched the movies and read the books then we found these questions are overall unchallenging and you'll get several questions that repeat and recycle the same information. As others have said, this is a standalone game but you don't get any pie pieces but you do get a pie. Strange. Worth a try if your whole group all likes Harry Potter but nearly £10 seems a bit much for a pack of cards.

Fantastic version of trivial pursuit for all Hogwarts-mad folks!
Provides a good level of challenge for even the most ardent Potter fan - we were certainly racking our brains at some of the questions. Having said that, there are also lots of easier questions to allow beginners/non-cape wearing party attendees to join in too. From experience so far, it does seem to be based on the film versions of HP, rather than the original books (no bad thing - just worth pointing out!).It's also all contained in a nice little box, allowing you to take it to friends houses etc - much better than carting the massive box of a normal board game!Great stuff!
