This cover was straightforward to install, looks good, does the job. Also, good value for money.

We bought two of these to replace cheap and nasty grilles that let the wind in! These work really well at keeping the draught out. One of them unfortunately arrived with a little plastic "pip" broken that holds the outer cover on . However it stays on with the three remaining "pips"! Great value product!

Did the job excellent product

Needed to replace an old faded white cowl vent. This is much better quality than its predecessor although did cost more than double the price!Easy to fit and looks good.I have stuck a couple of foam pads under the flap to help dampen the inevitable banging noise when caught by the wind.

Like many other reviewers, the inner shutters plastic hinge was snapped off and nowhere to be seen upon arrival. So I had to process a refund and return it and then order it again. The new one thankfully came and wasn’t broken.It certainly looks nice, however I now wish I’d gone for a more expensive stainless steel version. The plastic is a little cheap and thin to say the least, hence probably why so many get delivered broken. These sell for £2.94 over at ElectricalDirect, however it’s cheaper on Amazon once you account for delivery, but at this price you sadly can’t expect some nice German engineering. The weakness of the plastic also caused me problems when attaching it to the wall, as the hood would not quite click into place. It obviously had warped under the pressure of the screws, so I had to back it off a touch and I finally got it in. I didn’t feel confident with the way it locks I though - it’s just tiny plastic pins - so I decided to run a bead of CT1 around it. I had also added some thin foam to stop wind noise so we’ll see how well it does.I just wish manufacturers were willing to spend more on materials as I would happily spend £20 if the quality was far far stronger and better. I probably wouldn’t buy it again, but if you’re not fussy on quality, but want something that looks nice, then this might work for you.

Looks allot better and cleaner. Easy to install, but noisy in the winds. I’ve ended up putting some soft pads as it gets too noisy

Just what i needed for my external vent cover, however the location is in a bit of a wind tunnel between the two houses and as a result the flap that is designed to stop wind blowing back in does open and shut creating a small knocking noise, this is amplified by the vent tubing and can be quite loud in the kitchen. Imagine banging your hand on the top of a pipe (it is a similar effect).I found some small foam stickers which I have put on the flap so it doesn't fully shut each time which has reduced the effect considerably.I don't suppose this is an issue unique to this vent cover and any that I chose would likely waft due to air flow changes.Overall though the cover is easy to install and well made.
