When needing a warm weather sock, you can NOT go wrong with Carhartt!! I bought these for my husband, as we live on a farm and through the cold weather months the livestock must be attended to, and even with Thinsulate boots you need a nice warm sock to accompany them to keep out the chill. I've tried various brands throughout the year, having paid over $20 in the past for 1 pair of wool work socks!! This is a package of 4 pairs, for less then I had paid locally for 1 pair, and the quality of these are BETTER!!! I absolutely recommend these for anyone that has to be outside through the cold months for brief to longer periods of time, He's had and been wearing these for well over a month (I wanted to wait to see how they held up through multiple washings, and they hold their shape and elasticitiy, plus my husband is a bit "hard" on socks, (many times I have to throw away socks as he wears straight through the heel in a short time, but these thus far are not even showing any signs of "thinning" even on the heels. All in all, I would and will purchase this brand again, not only for my husband, but for my adult son who works in construction and has to be outdoors in the cold weather for 8 - 10 hours or longer a day. If you think the price on this 4 pack is a bit "high" you evidently haven't shopped for wool work socks, because the price and value is extraordinarily "low" which is why I waited to review. I wanted to see for myself the durability and I am 1000% satisfied!! From henceforth this will be my go-to winter wool work socks for the men in my family. The fit is perfect, the elastic has not deteriorated (he puts them on - they stay put without any problems, I must say, he has told me these are the best wool winter socks he has ever owned (and I've been purchasing various wool socks for him for over 20 years but this is my first time purchasing the Carhartt brand)! Lightweight but super warm.Good cold weather but manages heat as well.Sturdy construction washed many times and they still fell new.

Winter socks aren't something you normally get (if you get decent quality ones), and so you have to rely on reviews/guessing which are the best for you. Carhartt is one of those brands that's known for their rugged, outdoors, working man appeal; essentially Dickies, but for white people in the Midwest. Their work coats and hats are super popular, and for good reason. They work. So, after my SmartWool socks wore down and I needed some more, I went with Carhartt because I am Covid broke and North East Ohio likes to make your life miserable.The sizing:When you first see them, they look big and the label says "Large"... I didn't have a choice in sizing when purchasing them so I was already keyed up for a return. Luckily enough, they fit my 9.5 M feet fine. A bit of extra baggage, but nothing that affects comfort while in some "true size" boots. If anything, these are good for boots that are bit too big for the size, but the next size down is too small.Comfort: One of the biggest issues I have with wool socks is the wool part. I'm as man as any next man, but my feet skin is a bit sensitive my foot hairs (what small quantity there are) get pulled and aggravated by tighter socks. I was a bit worried that the roughness of the wool will irritate my feet. I've only had them on for the last 20 minutes, as I sit here typing this review, but while chasing away my dogs from the den, barking at the mailman, to the kitchen where I scolding them about being nice to people, I felt no irritation. Obviously, as they get washed over time, that can change, or my feet will decide to become grown adult feet, complete with their own topical rug, comfort could change. For now though, the wool is soft inside, though still with it's woolly roughness to a degree; and i can feel them soaking up the sweat produced in 74 central heating while wearing boots.The look:If my previous experience with anything Carhartt is worth anything, should a man notice you wearing Carhartt socks, know that their opinion of your "manliness" has been raised. If you are a lady wear these, guys will think it's cute and that you're a more "practical" woman. However, they are just winter socks so... yeah.

Great socks for those who work outdoors. Great quality and really keep your feet warm.

Husband won't wear any other socks for work. They are well made and breathable. Highly recommend.
