Q: does this also hqppen to fit a d3000 camera?

No, D3000 uses EL9 battery. This is for EL14 batteries.

Q: Where does the camera's battery cover go?

On most of these, there is a small slot to slide the cover into. I think this one is the piece that slides into the battery compartment. It is a small crevice that you just slide the cover into.

Q: Does this fit a D3400?

By all rights it should fit the 3000 series of Nikon cameras, but contacting the Neewer manufacturer maybe in order for the answer.

Q: Any known warranty on this product? The small tabs that hold the batteries in place no longer work properly so batteries aren't detected.

Not that I know of... I have the same problem (it broke the first time I put batteries in) and put folded pieces of paper on it to press the battery in further.
