I bought one of these a few months ago when the weather was warm and it did all I needed. Now we’ve had some cold weather and it’s seized up. So I’ve bought another one hoping I can grease it up and give it some protection. I will dismantle the old one and keep it as a spare. It’s not a cheap option so I would expect stainless steel throughout, I will check that and write another review in time, meanwhile beware! NB changing the access code is a pain but not something I expect to do very often.

I have now installed four of these locks and the instructions are reasonably straight forward, but two ways you can get into trouble.1) make sure you orienated the drive spindle for the way the door is hung and make sure this is OK by operating the handle before closing the door or you will be breaking and entering to open it again. (been there done that.)2) it is not easy to size the fixing bolts to the size of the door but this is very important as they can easily snap if bottomed and over tightened and then you are in real trouble. I did this and ended up drilling it out and re tapping the thread.other than that it is a good product at a very reasonable price.

This is a good product but the description was not detailed enough and consequently it does not fit my door. The door thickness is specified but not the length of the latch so if you have glass in your door the surround probably won’t be wide enough.

i paid my tradesperson to fit the lock and the lock doesn't work, the lick in the barrel doesn't release - i have not only wasted money on the lock i now have to pay another tradesperson to remove the lock and end up with no lock at all.The when i buy a reliable lock that works, pay another tradesperson to put it on the gate.Very unhappy, unnecessarily wasted money because of Amazon

I saw this product described as "Digital Security Door Lock by Sterling (Electronics)" and in the description it says "Amazon Bestsellers Rank: 14,748 in Electronics" and assumed it was electronic. There is nothing electronic about this product. It's a normal, run-of-the-mill mechanical combination entry lock with a requirement to dismantle the lock completely to change the codes. As we will be giving the access code to members of the public and therefore need to change them weekly, this product is totally unsuitable for our needs. I plan to fit it to the garden shed instead! Doubtless works as intended, but is not electronic, and you really don't want to re-set it.

Just normal lock, nothing special they gets broken regularly after year or two
