2.5LTR - JOHNSTONES TRADE AQUA GLOSS BRILLIANT WHITE

I ordered Johnstone's Aqua Water Based Gloss Brilliant White from Amazon having previously used the prior product from Johnstone's. The quality of this paint is a step change from the old. It has no odour, really good coverage (proved that you prime and undercoat), dries rapidly, leaves hardly any brush marks and is easy to clean brushesI keep a bucket of cold water handy and just waggle the brush in the water and it's clean. No more white spirit, brush cleaner etc. the gloss finish is not as mirror like as a good oil based paint but you would hardly notice. On top of that, oil based paint yellows over time whereas this will not. Best paint I've purchased for years! What's not to like about it? Cannot recommend this paint more.

Had a problem waiting for the order but sorted by the company and amazone. I've been a painter for over 40 yrs and tried most paints but this has lots of advantages.1 it has no odour.2 it is water base so materials can be washed with warm water after use.3 drys fast. 4 stays white, does not discolour.5 easy to clean and gives a strong gloss finish when dry. This company sells at a cheaper price than its competitors plus free delivery on amazon prime

This is my second order of this particular brand of paint having used many other brands of water based gloss paints previously. The paint is excellent. It feels more like a traditional oil based gloss but has no smell to it and is touch dry really quickly, although it does seem to take overnight for the paint to fully harden. It is a really bright, crisp white too and from my experience , appears to remain white longer than previous paints have. I highly recommend this paint.

Use a good brush the paint goes on quickly the coverage is excellent don’t put too much on your brush as it goes a long way no smell dries fast looks stunning highly recommended

After 40 years of diy painting, with casement wooden framed windows, I've tried many paints and this is currently my favourite. It's a hybrid, water-based but with some oil (technically, alkyd I believe). It has the benefits of water based paints - easy cleaning, quick drying, non-yellowing, with some advantages of oil based, such as better gloss finish and less rapid drying than 'pure' water-based paint. Exterior durability is looking good after 2 years but I've used expensive European sourced paint which has lasted 10 years in the past, so the jury's still out. It's not the easiest paint to apply for a professional finish: quick application with roller then laying off with brush on larger areas is necessary - you do have to watch out for runs. I've used it both inside and out. I haven't experienced any noticeable yellowing (yet) but since this is a hybrid paint there may yet be some, though it's unlikely to be as significant as oil based. It's fairly expensive but worth it if you already have some decent experience.

Writing review after 8 months of painting.Looks like its holding colour well after 8 months.Looks good. Not shiny as gloss but it doesnt turn yellow most importantly.Easier to apply than gloss and it doesnt stink.Doesnt make my face go red when applying unlike traditional gloss.A bit expensive though. Prices are almost same from other stores

Water based paints are the future, certainly for diyers. You get a great finish and cleaning of equipment is so much easier.

Great paint no strong odour and no drips really highly recommend
