Works well for my 75 Gallon. I did purchase two and the sync between the two controllers was very quick and simple. The pumps are quiet and the pulsing back and forth between each pump works perfect. The ability to change the flow and frequency is very nice.Was worth the money for me and my setup.

My experience with the hygger 3400 GPH Aquarium Inverter Wavemaker Pump has been a crapshoot. According to Amazon, I am awaiting my forth order of this dubious pump. My first was sold as new, but delivered as used. It was an obvious “Amazon Return” that was inoperable and missing parts. The replacement has worked flawlessly, and gave me the courage to order another to sync with the working wavemaker.Bring on the crapshoot . . . Seven hours after putting the third unit online, the LED Controller took a dump while attempting to sync the two units. Consulting what Hagger calls a user manual did not provide any help. The manual is garbage that requires translating. It looks like English, but because of its contextual structure, it might as well be Mandarin.This was only the beginning . . . No amount of unplugging would reset the controller. No reset option is offered via the user manual, or online. The real kick in the ass is that a replacement controller is not available.If Amazon’s 30-day refund/replacement window is missed you’ll have to deal with Hagger’s one-year limited warranty. My fourth replacement order is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Should it fail, Amazon will be asked for a full refund.Update: 2/28/2025 . . .As requested by Luna of the hygger Customer Service Team:Please review the attached photographs. The LED Controller on the left is the defective unit. It’s display is a blank, blue screen; reminiscent of the infamous “Blue Screen of Death” of Windows ’98. My fourth order did not arrive as expected. It’s suppose to be delivered today. Our USPS carrier, New Orleans, is not the most reliable.Update: 3/1/2025 . . .The crapshoot continues:Amazon sent me another “Amazon Return”; an open-box, no foam padding, a pump encrusted with dried saltwater, a wall-wart unlike those previously sent, and a controller whose face separating from its case. The contents were loosely stuffed In a retail box.All units returned to Amazon for a Total Refund . . .As an Amazon customer since December of 2010, I expect more. I’ve gone through two red sea reefwave 45s in the past year, both eventually started making loud vibration noises. Too expensive for that kind of reliability so I figured I would try these pumps. For less than half the cost two of these move more water and are much quieter than that red sea reefwave 45 ever was. The setup of the two pumps was very easy and I set them to master and slave on setting 3. They alternate flow nicely and I can not care if they crap out in 2 years at this price. I’m going to keep an eye on these pumps and if they ever go on sale buy a couple spares. These perform almost like when I had echotech mp40s a few years ago before the reefwaves but again much less expensive. Well worth the shot at trying these.

I bought this on February 16, 2023 so exactly 16 months ago as this review is being done. It started off great as far as power and reliability but for the past 3 months I constantly come home to my wavemaker that I use to supply oxygen and keep aggression down in my south african cichlid tank and it's always off but plugged in. It's just getting worse but happening more frequently as time passes. Was thinking about ordering multiple for a main/follow one for flow on the top and bottom but I'm not spending $85-90 a year basically for a wavemaker (per wavemaker) let alone multiple. That's more expensive then maintaining a fluval fx6 and less effective. I also do like how it can't be angled in any way at all which means to break the surface it's always right near the top meaning if you don't want it sucking in air every few days you have to move it frequently.

As far as inexpensive power heads go this one works great. Many functions for fine tuning to your application. I love the light sensor that reduces the flow to 1 at night to give your tank friends a break. As a budget minded aquarist this is perfect for me and my needs. I have a 90 gallon tank with two of these. Minus one star for lack of clear direction, but it’s not too hard to figure out. Look up YouTube videos if you need help. This gets the job done!!

Update: once again customer service is great. Mine were still under warranty. Sent a video of the problem and replaced number 2. Next time I upgrade my tank I'm going with the higher model.of these. Thank you again hygger for standing behind your productand awesome features when you have multiples. Had a problem with one of my wavemakers after sending a short video to hygger customer support they immediately sent me a replacement. Can ask for more. I have a 125 and the speed on my wavemakers are set lower and it creates a powerful wave. I have 2 set up alternating waves and at night it's a steady flow from both pumps with the light sensor
