Yes, my daughter has very dark brown, almost black hair and I used the purple spray. If you look under Customer Images hers is the one with the large braid with purple spray. I was worried it wouldn't show up on her dark hair, but was pleasantly surprised. This is more of a coating on your hair than a hair dye. So if you want it more vibrant of a color, just keep adding more coats of spray.

I'm Puerto Rican and I have medium brown hair with blonde highlights... AND IT BARELY SHOWED. I sprayed it all over my hair and no one noticed until I pointed it out and got a reaction of "Oh yeah, now I see a little shine". I don't know if it will show more on dark hair, but it certainly didn't show on mine. However, it was on my hands, my shirt, pillowcase that night. Be careful.
