This is the best mesh Wi-Fi an affordable price
It is a great mesh wi-fi system, this model is not made anymore but I definitely would buy more for sure made by Asus. It has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz which is ridiculously fast. The app works amazing to synchronize the nodes to the main unit and you can unplug nodes from the wall and move it anywhere and it will resynchronize itself to the main unit. Also in some cases when it optimizes it will go node to node to give it a stronger signal at the node furthest away from the main unit or the main unit might feed each of the nodes but you see all this in the app, which is easy to use. It is Great Valley for money cost about 160 new when I bought it at the store this is a refurb, so I bought this for about $100 because I needed extra nodes and I couldn't find those because they don't make this model anymore and newer models are not backwards compatible. Also want to mention that in a power outage the whole system re-boots itself and reconnects itself very fast and recovers nicely from a power outage or blip, without you having to go on the app and doing anything. Would buy more Asus products especially the mesh networks it really improved Wi-Fi connectivity all over my house. Also from a node you can plug in a lan cable and plug it from the node into your laptop so you got an amazing connection there, that is very fast to transfer data. The unit is very small about a 4 in Cube as long as you can plug it in the wall it works great and it is not an eye sore, great design you can also turn off the LED lights on each of the node units so it doesn't become a distraction for you.

Better than advertised
Gifted this to my parents and was excited to get it working. Their home had horrible WiFi dead zones. I'd already upgraded their router to an ASUS WiFi6 model. When I read that it could become part of a mesh network, I jumped into gear finding them the best system for their space. Enter the ZenWiFi XD4. They opened the box and were excited that the TV would finally have a good signal. Of course, I had to install it. Worked like a charm from the jump. The unpacking and connection of the units was simple. Plug and play is NOT an exaggeration. It took me longer to decide where I wanted to place them, than it did to transfer their network to the new router. In minutes their home had internet in every nook and cranny!

Whole house wifi coverage including front and back yards
How I arrived at my overall rating: ***** (5 star)Value ***** (5 star) Nice price point compared to other mesh systemsPurchase price: $160Quality/Durability ***** (5 star) Good quality, they should last their tech lifetimeDuration of use: 1.5 yearsEase of Use/Assembly/Install: ***** (5 star) - Was already using a ASUS router, so adding these on were simple. Used App to detect and set up each node. Was up and running in less than an hour. I did have to play around with location to optimize coverage.Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: ***** (5 star) Has worked extremely well keeping entire home wifi connected. Includes the front and backyards (nodes are placed towards each of those areas inside home).Keep in mind, only one node has RJ45 input. The other two connect thru wifi only. All 3 have RJ45 output to connect to devices or switch. This is my exact setup and I don't notice any difference with speeds amongst the different nodes.

Amazing product, horrible customer service
This is the most mixed review I have ever had to write. After months of absolutely nightmarish service from ASUS, I have had it running for a couple of weeks, and I'm very impressed.Let's start with the bad:I purchased one of these routers and after two hours on the phone with tech support they concluded it was defective and should be replaced. So I called Amazon and they said they couldn't send a replacement. I would have to return it and purchase another one, so I did. A MONTH LATER, I still had not received my refund, so I had to call Amazon again. They said that for this particular item, I had to wait until the refund had been processed. Not sure how long it takes to process a return to an Amazon store, but I'm pretty sure it's not a month. I digress...After finally getting a refund for the original, I purchased a new one. Same story with that one - the web interface kept saying "no internet connection", which is clearly wrong, since it said I had two devices connected to it. So after two more hours on the phone they concluded I had yet another defective one. ASUS said, they would send me an "advance" replacement, along with a return shipping label for the other one. So now I'm thinking, "OK, that's pretty good service". Boy was I wrong...Over a week later I still hadn't gotten a tracking number, and I keep getting emails and voicemails saying "if there's anything else we can do, please call us". So I responded and asked "where's my replacement?" No response. They just left a bunch of voicemails extremely early in the morning. So I finally called them back. Now the story has changed - "you have two choices, you can either (a) send us back the old one and wait for it to be processed, after which we will send you a replacement, or (b) you can give us your credit card number, we will put a hold on it, and send you a USED one. We will remove the hold once we received the old one".Now the good:I am not one to give up easily, and this is the ONLY router on the market that has both decent range AND radio control (the ability to turn wi-fi off while still being able to use a hardwired ethernet connection), so I was determined to make it work. I tried a million different setup methods, and nothing fixed the issue. So as a last ditch effort, I purchased a new modem. After setting up the router and rebooting the new modem, it suddenly worked. I was using an Arris one before, and I switched to a Hitron.Speed over ethernet is pretty good 925/56, but where this thing excels is wireless - 768mbps on my iPhone in the same room as the hub, and 388 on the floor above with only two out of three nodes running. That is insanely fast compared to my previous Eero router which got less than half that.Best part is the ability to cut off the wifi on a schedule. I absolutely loathe wifi not just for speed reasons, but for health and privacy reasons as well. With this, I can work on my computer during the day via ethernet, while my girlfriend watches TikTok videos or whatever she does on her phone. I can set a timer so that wi-fi turns off at night so we are not bombarded with radiation while we sleep, but I can still watch shows on my AppleTV. Win, win, win.I wonder how many of these devices are returned by people who can't figure out how to set them because customer service is completely useless. I know for a fact that there is no way people like my parents or siblings could have gotten it to work. Glad I didn't give up on this one.

Awesome setup
Got this overnighter with prime. Using these as a access point to a previously set up network. Had a head dead zone upstairs in my house on the opposite side of the house from where the previous router and modem are installed. My PS5 could never connect to that network due to the awful quality of Sony's choice of wifi antenna and wifi chipset. Using one of the nodes of this setup as a network adapter for the PS5 and it is the best connection and speed I've ever had. Installation of these took less than a half our. Used Asus router app on my phone and it was super simple to use. No issues. Great product. Will update if I run into any hiccups or issues in the future.
