It's funny, deer heads or the tool of choice in the past in fluid heads were the replacement of sorts, but I don't see myself ever going back to a fluid head after working with this thing. Strong. Durable. Accurate. The weight of my camera grew over time press the limits of my fluid head. And it just isn't easy finding a fluid head that has a rating of over 25 lb. And the accuracy that this thing provides no fluid head can give. It's very solid construction. It's easy to maneuver. The adjustment capability is not the greatest, and I say this because you have to spend an additional $1,000 to get a speed differential, which means in order to move faster your hands have to move fast.. I don't like that. But it definitely improves your video quality. Now I find myself able to tell what movies were shot on a gearhead. I think that this thing is great, excellent value for the money, it's functionality with the exception of that one absent feature, is great. Proaim, you provide great product to people, I do recommend that you improve things like your nuts and bolts, sometimes I'll find that something is off because of some tiny screw that needs adjustment. It happens more frequently than you think. Yet still this company provides undeniably good product for what you pay. I do recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been wondering about this gearhead for a while but since available on Amazon without return problems I did it.It is super quality and the main body shell is metal although it looks plastic and no search said so. While you can’t change speeds the ratio is perfect. It had a tendency to tilt after stopping but the tension knob on the front needed adjustment which fixed the problem.The wheels rotate the same directions as Arri heads so if you get the chance and practice enough with this you will elevate your camera operator skills to the next level.I will re visit my review later after some shooting and maybe if possible post some footage using this unit. I can tell it is worth every penny as long as it holds up.
