The NETGEAR AX4 AX1800 is a solid entry-level Wi-Fi 6 router that won’t break the bank, but it’s not the most impressive in terms of coverage or advanced features. If you live in an apartment or a medium-sized home and just want a stable, fast connection without too much hassle, it does the job well. However, if you have a lot of devices connected at the same time or a larger home, you might notice some limitations in signal range. Personally, I’d recommend it for someone looking to upgrade to Wi-Fi 6 without paying for features they might not need. But if you’re after top-tier performance and coverage, there are stronger options within NETGEAR’s lineup.

Works With Starlink Modem
Works great with my Starlink modem. Have the gen 2 modem, and with the dungle from Starlink, I can now connect PoE cameras with ethernet cable (PoE required).

Comapct and versitile it started out strong but died after 2 weeks
Update: 3/21/2023 Though this router started out strong and its "admin" controls made it very versatile after 2 weeks of being up and running it died. I tried several reboots and ultimately neither the internet nor the wifi worked at all. So I returned it to Amazon and ended up using a much more robust Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Router (R7000) which is a well-established and reliable workhorse of the Netgear lineup of Dual Band Routers. It is not a Level 6 Router but, so far, it can handle everything that I need it to do.I just signed on to Spectrum Internet. Prior to accepting the contract I was told by sales that the router provided by Spectrum (New Level 6 Router) provided in-depth control of the wifi radios allowing for turning on and off the wifi radios and also modulating signal strength of the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency spectrums.Upon receiving the equipment and setting up the service network it turned out that the administration function of the router was severely limited providing no control of the 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi radios either on and off or modulating signal strength. I called Spectrum Customer Service and spoke to several different customer support representatives and received several different explanations for the difference between what was promised at the time of sale vs. the actual performance of the router. One fairly experienced representative said that Netgear Nighthawk routers were compatible with the Spectrum Modem and system and should be able to provide the level of wifi control that I am looking for. First, I tried out an earlier version of Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 Model: R7000. Unfortunately, this modem did not have the level of wifi control that I was looking for out of the box and because of its age (2016) it needed several upgrades to firmware with no guarantee that the firmware upgrades would provide the enhanced wifi control I was looking for.I looked again, this time, for a level 6 Netgear Nighthawk modem and arrived at this one (NETGEAR 4-Stream WiFi 6 Router (R6700AX) and was pleasantly surprised to find it easy to set up and also that it possessed a very robust and in-depth administration function which allows for a wide variety of control over the functions of the router including the turning on and off the wifi radios either manually or on a time schedule and also allows both the 2.4 and the 5 GHz radios signal strength to be modulated from 100% to 75% to 50% to 25% of full power which is exactly what I was looking for.The system has been in place for about 3 days and it has performed flawlessly during that time. When no one needs the wifi early in the morning or late at night I turn off the wifi radios and just stay connected to the router (GB ethernet router ports remain functional) via an ethernet patch cord.Netgear documentation and customer support via the internet have been easy to work with and extremely well organized to make the overall experience with this router top-of-the-line. I would recommend this router to anyone using Spectrum Internet. (one caveat it this router is recommended for use in smaller homes or offices of up to 1500 square feet.)

Works with Spectrum
Previously ordered a refurbished version and had trouble getting it to operate correctly. This new version works great with Spectrum!

Much more stable than my old one that was provided
This works so much better than the one furnished by my internet service. My son had a bit of a problem getting the password to work with this router so that all of the WiFi electronic wouldn’t have to be re programmed.

Best Bang for the Buck
Works perfect right out of the box, I noticed its range was farther than my last router! and it gave me the speeds that I was paying for.So as of 2/1 to 2/10 Its working well. I saw a review that their router died after a month so if it dies after a month I'll update. but if not then I'll give it some time before I update this review again.
