SolidOil: Cooking Oil Solidifier

Amazing product that does exactly as described and has made it so much easier to clean my pots and pans! Great value for money and is super simple to use so would definitely recommend.

A bit expensive

Sounded like a really great idea but reading how much of the stuff you need to use it will take nearly the whole packet to empty the deep fat fryer once! I’ll be saving it for a really rainy day before I use it and will keep recycling the oil for as long as possible. Definitely won’t be repeating the purchase anytime soon.

Previous people went "aww, it's small so I will use less..." and weren't happy with the product. No, follow the instructions and use the right quantity (I even measured it on a scale!). Also, the other reviewer said "I wish I put it in a bowl or jug so I can scoop it out instead of my prized oven tray..." Exactly right - I poured all my oil into a cooking measuring jug that could use hot things like soups or gravy (the type with tempered glass) with the mixture and waited until it cooled. When it cooled, I just stuck a spoon around the sides and expected I was to scoop it out BUT, nope, it started to move like jelly and it slide right out of the jug when I turned it upside down and right into the bin - no fuss and no traces on the measuring jug.Excellent product.

I used this as instructed and it does indeed solidify used oil. But, I have had a major problem with the result. Whilst it does do the job I am now left with a ruined brand new frying pan because despite washing said pan 4 times it still has the scent of the flakes on it. I fried an egg with fresh cooking oil and the egg smelled of the product. I've thrown out the rest of the product and wouldn't advise anyone to use it.

Came across this product when looking for drain unblockers - it's a lifesaver! Really convenient and easy to use. Once solidified the oil was easy to scrape off and dispose. Will definitely be repurchasing!

I saw this on a YouTube cooking channel and as I deep fry chicken wings, I thought this would be great for dealing with the messy wastage.After researching similar products, I took the plunge and purchased this. My main issue is that I find it quite an expensive product just for throwing away in the bin.I found the instructions confusing so I ended up using too little product and the oil did not solidify even slightly. This meant that i couldn’t even recycle the oil as I usually do.If the instructions could be made better, this product might be more useful. Again, take this review with a pinch of salt as it may by my fault.
