Had issue with the first one but the second one worked perfectly
I ordered this to go in my home office to give me some color. The first one I got worked but would not connect to the app which has all the extra controls the remote does not. I followed some trouble shooting info I received and no matter what the lights would time out and not connect to the app. I requested and received a replacement that connected immediately to the app. There are so many more settings you can do with the app such as change to music or just setup a pattern of colors and flashing that you want. I have the lights setup in my office and they work great. Even though I had an issue with the first one the replacement performed better then expected with the app so I am giving it 5 Stars.

nice setup, good remote. short for the $
First, let me say WOW! I've had dozens of RGB lights over the years and they just keep getting better. RGBIC - with a little chip on each LED so each can be programmed to a different color - offers so many animated possibilities. The best controllers offer breathing and flow, chases and lightning, color matching and sound response. The newest (I think) addition to the family are these "neon" ropes, which surround the lights with rubber to make them more flexible (bend into shapes), durable, waterproof, AND diffused so you see much less evidence of the individual lights. This 3 Meter neon strip is a fine specimen. It's gorgeous! includes 12V power, a decent remote, and plenty of mounting clips. This one is Bluetooth (not wifi) and does integrate with Tuya's Smart Life app - or with Yun Home's knockoff - to unlock more settings and patterns. In theory, it seems Smart Life enables Alexa/Google integration - even if your device doesn't natively support it. I haven't been able to get that to work yet, but Yun Home doesn't make any claims here. This is a really nice light, quality feel and decent feature set on its own. I just don't see much that makes it stand above the competition and command a premium price. This unit is only 3M, which limits its use. Many in this price range are 5M. There are electrical limitations to anything longer, I've seen the old strips get much longer and there are good 24V power supplies around these days so it will be fun to see where these go. And these are relatively new so they should be coming down in price. As it is now, there's a HUGE variety of lengths and features to choose from.

Collects dirt *very* quickly
The media could not be loaded. So originally when I opened this product I assumed the product had been used because there were specs of dirt/dust all over. Upon using, I don’t believe this to be true. I was just planning to use it and then fully install later when I had cleared wall space. By the end of the five-ten minutes this rope light was *covered* by dust. Literally every bit of dust and dirt that was in my room clung to this light. I highly caution anyone with pets away from this rope light as even if you get this up on the wall, at least for my circumstances, there is a lot of extra dust in the air due to pets and it absorbs literally all of it. I was able to use an air duster to get a lot of it off but it was time consuming and it still wasn’t able to get all of it off. This is my first neon rope light, I’ve had neon signs and light strips but as they are quite different, I haven’t had a similar issue yet. ASIDE from this, it is a really neat rope light. The light settings are super cool and I like that you can use either the app or a remote control. While the rope material clings dirt, it is also super soft and allows the light to emit a really nice glow which is why I think this product, despite its difficulties, is still a relatively good product in the right home. There are tons of clips and it allows you to have a lot of freedom of what you choose to make. The rope is pretty thick so I don’t think you’d be able to make overlapping designs very well and you can see my attempt without using the clips and it stayed in shape really well and was easy to handle. I think it was a good size to create a design with and I was easily able to make a 4 letter word out of it with no issue. I think that this product also really shines in the lighting options. You can speed up the light design or slow it down, with a lot of ability to customize. As far as the actual colors, my video didn’t pick up all of the colors very well but they are all pretty bright. I like the ones that spin, I think they are pretty cool. The dimmer works really well, and gives you a nice range of brightness. I like that you have a remote that can just change the color (even if they aren’t very representational of the lights, as long as you remember which ones you like it is pretty easy). There are also different modes and different color sets with some predone color combinations. I really liked how pastel the lights are for female gamers because that is difficult to find in neon strips sometimes. I have not used the app yet, because it appeared fairly standard. Overall, I think the quality of the lights are *great* as long as you are prepared for the inevitable cleaning of them. Or always have them turned on (I couldn’t tell they were dirty until they were turned off).
