Still working great 4 years later
I bought this in 2021 and it's still going strong. Yes, it's loud, but it does a great job of cooling the front of my house in the summer, when temperatures in Florida are 100. I've never had a single problem with it. It's a lifesaver!

Good cooling, takes time and is slightly loud. But overall great purchase!
This AC is very reliable. It takes a while to cool the room, but after a couple of hours it does the job :)Note: It is slightly loud, so if you're used to white noise whilst sleeping then you're good. Hence the 4 star rating.

It works and is convenient
I had two objectives in this purchase: 1) provide a back-up air conditioner to our house's central air in case of failure (a friend had to wait 5 days in sweltering heat for a repair opening), and 2) evaluate cooling just our bedroom at night rather than cooling the whole house. This unit is semi-portable (it is heavy so moving up/down stairs is a bit of a chore) and can be installed in various window types. We installed this in our bedroom. We keep the house at 75 or 76 during the day but would always turn it down to 70 or 69 for sleeping. Now we don't touch the main thermostat but just flip on this portable AC in our master bedroom. It cools the room down quickly, is not too noisy, and seems economical. The documentation is generally clear but there is one feature that it did not address - the unit has the ability to "wave" the output vent. That waving motion is only controlled by the remote control. I spent a long time trying to figure out how to do that from the base unit but found I needed to use the remote to toggle it on or off. Also, found that having Mode = Cool and Fan=Slow works better for us than Mode=Auto. We have not used this to cool the whole downstairs as we would if our central air would ever fail but I suspect it would take the edge off any high temperatures which is what we'd want. All in all, this was a good purchase for us.

Honeywell drops in quality
Ok, we got this with the intent of me working in the garage during the Arizona Summer tolerable. I am not expecting it to snow in the garage. We have 2 AC units, an upstairs and down stairs and we keep the Temp around 78. The garage being part of the house has the indirect benefit of both ACs keeping the house cool.Yes the garage has the indirect benefit from the house ACs but does not make the garage a workable space when the temps are 116 outside. This AC just needed to help keep the garage tolerable for me to work in. A little sweat not a bid deal, but I do not want to be soaking in sweat.I set the temp to 80 to how long it would take to get there. from 6 am to 1200 pm running on high it never got there. The temp only hit 100 because we just had a cold wave move through do storm activity. Prior to that, it had been 116 and higher. I changed to the setting to 90 to see if it could reach that. It could not.Now to be fair, if I could have set it up to blown at me directly, I might not have been so annoyed but it is poorly designed. It has a small outlet to push the out the cold air. The octlet swings as they describe, meaning that it it widens and closes. Tried to test it to see if it made and difference and no. It would have been more effective if the outlet was directly in front and moved left and right. As it is designed, I would have to be standing right next to it just to hope to experience a cooling effect. The fan is not very strong and even when testing it, I stood right next to it with my hand near the vent to see if I could hope to get use out of the fan. No, the old window ACs from the 70s and 80s blew out more cold air than this thing ever dreamed of.I even looked at the image they presented. The guy with a bad haircut, holding a child in one hand and working on a laptop with the other. I then went and looked up images of apartments that were 450 square feet. I call BS that this ac unit can cool a 450sq feet apartment unless it is some place up north, but not down in the southm especially the South West. Honeywell knows this. They have major plants here in Arizona. Now when my wife notified me that she picked out this AC unit and it was from Honeywell, I told her great. I have known Honeywell most of my life. Good company, solid products, good to their employees. I think highly of Honeywell. Now this AC has to be the biggest dissapointment I have experienced from Honeywell. They are or were a smarter company. This AC tells me that they are not trying to keep up with their own standards.Honestly, that little outlet the moves up and down is not able to push out enough air to make a difference in a 450 square foot room. In my garage it just had to complement the work my two house ACs do and it could not even get the garage down below 90 on 100 degree day. A sealed off garage that is in the mid 90s, I just wanted in the mid 80s and it could get below 90 in 6 hours.Lesson learned, I will not blindely trust Honewell like I once did. I would not recomend this product. I did read the review where a guy bought this for his camper and loved it. Just for the record, there are much more affordable AC units you can get for a camper that will not take up as much space. a 400 square foot camper would be considered luxurious. Then you take into account it has beds and other furnishing so in reality the AC required to cool off even the luxury camper is not as great as this professes to be.also, the app for alexa is crap. Tried to get it linked up, it wanted my phone or email and it kept telling me my name was incorrect. So using Alexa is a bust.To open the remote to install batteries, you have to push in on the center then down on the back side. It has no indication on how to open eith on the remote or in the instructions.

works well in large room
There doesn't seem to be many reviews for this unit and what there are, are pretty mixed. Not sure why because I'm really happy with this AC unit. This is the first AC I've ever owned, so I don't really have anything to compare it to though. I bought it when we had the unprecedented heatwave in the Pacific Northwest, it got to over 108 where I live. AC is still pretty rare here since it's unusual to even get higher than 90 or so.I have the unit in my second floor living room (high 10ft ceilings, it gets HOT up here, even when outside temps are in the 80's) with an open concept layout, so my kitchen and dining room is also part of the big living area. There is a south facing glass sliding door onto my deck that gets very hot in the summer. Also, I have a split level, so the area for the stairs is also open. I don't know what the sq ft is of all that, but for the size of the unit, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well it does. This AC unit does a good job of keeping the whole area comfortable on hot days, so far mid-90's and above outside. I have it set to 72 degrees inside and as long as I close all the curtains and turn it on early before it gets hot inside, it doesn't seem to struggle. I'm happy with the level of cooling.Noise level isn't any worse than having a fan on even when the cooling kicks on. I have had no issues with water leaking or dripping. Luckily, the perfect location for it is right by my front room window and a dedicated outlet that I use for my electric fireplace. The window exhaust kit that came with it could be a little more robust, but it installed in my vertical sliding window okay. I had planned to buy new foam to beef up the window insulation, but it hasn't been necessary so far.The only thing I was unhappy about is that it took a couple weeks to get here and seemed to bounce around A LOT within Fed Ex's network, sometime going back and fourth between hubs. But that's not the AC units fault!
