Good replacement for double watch winder motor
The media could not be loaded. I bought this to replace the failed motor in my 3 year old Excelvan double watch winder. It's been working perfectly for a few weeks and is noticeably quieter than the original motor still running in my other double watch winder.I also had a problem with the rubber drive band, which I replaced with a 23mm internal diameter / 2mm cross section O ring.I couldn't find any specific guide how to dismantle the winder, so I've attached some photo's in case you have the same trouble, here are the rough steps I followed:1) Twist the inner frame which holds the watches anti clockwise about 15 degrees. You'll need a strong grip on the outer frame, as it's very tight. Remove the inner frame.2) Remove the small screw at the centre of the outer frame. The outer frame can then be pulled away.3) Remove the screw securing the angles display back board, then prize this board out of the watch winder box to show all the internal components.4) Remove the screws holding the motor / gearbox unit to the back board5) Remove the screws to open the gear box and remove the gears / rubber drive band. Note the position of all items, as you've got to put this back together ;-)6) Remove the two screws holding the motor7) Cut off the old motor, and solder in the new one, noting the correct +- polarity (At this point I could say, that you should have already tested the motor before you dismantle the watch winder!)8) Prise off the small drive wheel from the old motor and push onto the spindle of the new motor9) Re-assemble reversing the above steps, but I'd suggest replacing the rubber drive belt as well as you've taken the trouble to take it to piecesHope this helps and good luck!

Great little motors
I bought these to repair my watch winder and I'm glad i did!I originally bought some similar motors from ebay that were totally useless that either didn't work or had virtually zero torque, stopping dead under any slight load.I found these motors on Amazon, testing them on a battery, so far so good!I've now fitted a couple of them into my watch winder and they are dealing with the job nicely. Quiet running, quick switching direction and handling a coupleof heavy watches easily. Very pleased.
