Replacement element worked so well it put the old ones to shame.
The middle element on my Dualit two slice toaster was on the fritz - result = uneven toast. I replaced it with a nice new one and it now works so much better than the old end ones - result = uneven toast! Had to send off for the two end ones now to even things up. My advice is to replace ALL of the elements at the same time. How?.... Unplug toaster from mains. Remove crumb tray. Turn toaster upside down and unscrew bottom plate. Take photo if you are forgetful or a bit doo lally like me. Loosen retaining bar nuts and slide bar away from elements. Undo nuts and screws which attach electrical terminals to elements (easier to replace one at a time). Put new element/s in. Re assemble. Switch toaster on full to get rid of new smell. Enjoy toast in a third of the previous time it took to make. NOTE: Don't forget to plug the toaster in BEFORE you switch it on or it won't work.

Perfect fit and easy to install
The only annoying thing is that the other elements in the toaster look underpowered and old compared to this new installation. Perhaps I should have ordered an entire set of four elements.

Suitable for older Dualit toasters
I ordered this first, to replace one failed element, before realising our toaster had the newer plastic-coated heating elements. It did just fit at a push, and it did work, so can't fault it (hence a fair five stars IMO), but I actually ended up taking it out again and buying a full set of the newer style elements which work great. So the moral is "check what type of heating elements you need first".

Fatter than the original element
Works well but it was a pain to fit as it’s noticeably fatter than the OEM element it replaced. Got it eventually (with a bit of grease) in but it was a struggle

Revived a toaster that I don't really like
I was given a broken Dualit toaster, and couldn't resist the temptation to mend it.It's wonderful to have a kitchen appliance that can be mended, and it's not hard to work out how to do it.The result is a toaster that's just as good and as limited as a new one. The slot is too small for the bread I buy, and it's irritating to have to dial the timing in every time. And the recommendation that you switch off at the wall every time is one that users will normally ignore. The Dualit takes up too much space on the counter for me to keep it.

Best toaster ever
A Dualit toaster is the Rolls Royce of toasters. We've had ours for about twenty years and had to replace the elements about twice. Not much to go wrong on them.

Don’t fit!
These elements do not fit our wider hole 2 slot Dualit toaster which is contrary to the description and I can not see how to make a return.

Breathed new life into my 19yr old toaster!
Purchased this for my Dualit 6 slice toaster which has served us well for 19 years but with 3 elements out, was destined for the tip. Thought it was worth a go at fixing given the cost for a new one. These are not Dualit originals but do the job just fine. Only gave 3 stars for installing but in all fairness this was fiddly owing to the fact that i didn't have a small enough spanner for the job and had to use dolphin nose pliers instead. Would have been quite simple with the correct spanner but was too eager to get it fixed to go out and buy one!
