So comfortable!
I bought this as a replacement for the standard issue surgical shoe I received from the hospital after surgery. This fits snug but not tight. Much more supportive and more like a shoe. It also has a rocker sole so your gait is more natural than the other shoe I had. This is so much more comfortable than the one the hospital provided. Do not hesitate to get it. It’s a great upgrade for something you may be wearing constantly for several weeks.

Mom says it helps to support her foot.
I purchased this item for my mom to walk around the house and she says it has helped her a lot with putting her weight on it. Yes, she wears it daily around the house to walk on it. She injured her left leg and is comfortable for her to use this item as a sandal foot support.

size is not true (too small for stated size); sole is not firm enough to support any toe fracture
1. Shoe size chart is not correct. Though my shoe size is mid-range, this shoe is too short: my toes are at edge. That is not good for toe fracture: fifth toe, proximal phalanx. I tried very diligently to push and strap my heel into the back of the shoe, but my toes still hang at the edge.2. Sole of shoe is flexible at the tip. The sole tapers at the level of the toes which give flexible bending at the toe joints. That is not good for toe fracture. Toes hanging at edge and sole of shoe bending are sure recipe for toe fracture non-union.3. Having said that, the shoe is readily fitted for left or right foot. Aside from being too short and bending at the toes, the shoe is comfortable and straps are nice. However, I did not wear this anymore than to try to get my toes positioned into the shoe. I cannot comment on whether wearing beyond trying it on is good or bad.4. Amazon, as usual, is very helpful to process my return. I am awaiting their email, but I was assured it is returned.Thanks!Med-Surg Shoe in Black Size: Women's Medium - Note: selecting "Insert Product link" lost my review! I had to re-write the review! Not fun!

Low-profile Post-op shoe
I bought this shoe because the boot that I was given after my bunion surgery was a little over-the-top. If all you need is something to stabilize your toes and not your ankle, then this shoe is great. Doesn't look too bad, keeps your foot flat so your toes stay straight. Wish te toe wasn't so square, but I suppose they designed it that way for a reason. All-in-all the shoe did what it was supposed to do and looked more like a sandal than an orthopedic shoe.

Great shoe, bad sizing
I give it only four stars because of the sizing. I went to the Darco website to verify the size needed, my dad wears a 8.5 mens. Which according to the manufacturer website should be a size medium 8.5 to 10. My dads toes were hanging off the edge of the shoe. I ended up having to order another set in size large. The large gives his toes at least an inch before the edge. With that said, everything else about these shoes have worked out perfect. The foot strap is adjustable to the size of the foot dressing, makes it each to use, and his foot isn't sliding out of the shoe.Recommendation to get the size bigger just to be safe.

Shoe is a pain!
I recently had surgery on my foot and wanted something to keep the weight of a blanket or throw off my foot without having to wear the huge surgical boot when resting. This would have done the trick nicely, however, in order to make this shoe a 'one-size-fits-all' arrangement, the entire strap that covers your toes is backed by Velcro. This means it sticks to your bandage, sock or other foot covering like glue and is a pain in the neck to get on and off. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it to anyone.

Great for broken toe protection
Sizing is confusing, but this shoe has been great for my son's broken toe! We bought both the Pediatric and the Women's Small, since his shoe size is between the two. Both fit, but the Women's small (often considered a men's xs) was about an inch and a half beyond his longest toe, and the Pediatric came right to the end of his longest toe. I just wish they'd make a women's xs or pediatric large. 😊I do like that the velcro strap across the foot can be completely removed and placed on the other side so it doesn't pull when walking. From the Darco website:Pediatric fits Children's shoe size 12 - 1Women's Small fits shoe size 4 - 6Women's Medium fits shoe size 6.5 - 8Women's Large fits shoe size 8.5 - 10Men's Small fits shoe size 6-8Men's Medium fits shoe size 8.5 - 10Men's Large fits shoe size 10.5 - 12Men's X-Large fits shoe size 12.5 - 14
