I would have liked to give a 5 star. However, for the price, I would have expected a heavier duty support. It still works okay, nevertheless the tailgate drops quickly without much resistance. I would not recommend for the $29 price they are asking. I believe it would be an fair purchase at $16.

It works as it should, easy and quick to swap it out all you need is small flat head screw driver to lift tabs and slide it into place. No more slamming tailgate on my Tundra and easier to lift when closing.

It fits. But it doesn’t have enough support. The tailgate on my 2010 tundra slams down with this strut. My worn out 14 year old factory strut is better than this junk. They advertise it as an exact OEM replacement. Well the OEM strut slows down the tail gate so you can just open it and let go and it falls down slowly. This doesn’t do that. I called the company and they said it isn’t supposed to slow the fall. Only help you lift it up. Well then they shouldn’t list it as an OEM replacement if it functions differently. Returned

Perfect replacement strut for my 2015 Toyota Tundra tailgate., now it drops nice and easy.

I had recently added aftermarket lift assist to my previous truck, and really liked how it helped. But I lost that truck, and bought myself a 2008 Tundra. The bed was super heavy to open and close, so I was about to purchase another aftermarket piston lift. Before discovering the tundra has one built in, it was just toast. After a 10 minute install, this makes my bed an easy one handed operation. Looked to be same quality as the old piston.
