Strong and perfect for hanging a heavy gate
I hung a heavy wrought iron gate on these, which was almost too heavy for me to lift. I mounted them onto a piece of 2X4 because I wanted to be sure of getting them aligned correctly, and I was afraid of putting them straight into brick in case the drill hole drifted. I put the bottom one on with one screw, then the top one, then put the other screws in, in order to be sure that the gate was straight and the hinge pins were aligned correctly. I was expecting the usual hassle you get with this sort of DIY job, from unexpected obstacles, but it was easy and I hung the gate in an hour. These hinge pins are strong and the gate swings smoothly on them with no sign of strain.

even though i read reviews i was sceptical, but i do recommend. they are heavy quality, decently made, and at a fab price. so pleased could deliever next day. saves driving around different stores trying to find what i needed. pleased as punch

Didn't fit.
The hinges looked really strong and sturdy. Unfortunately the missing dimension on the hinge was the distance from the back plate to the centre of the pun hinge.These hinges proved to be too far out to retro fit my 1930s gates.If they did fit, I'm sure I'd give a 5*. Items returned.
