For Acid Soil Loving Plants.
I bought this product because I was given a Camellia shrub, which thrives in acid soils. However my soil is alkaline which camellias dislike and will not thrive.I applied the sulphur chips into the ground as per the instructions and within 3 weeks my soil in the applied area had become Neutral verging to Acid in composition. The Camellia is thriving and growing well, the sulphur chips appear to be working their magic.

Soil Acid Enforcer
These chips offer an option to change soil acidity, -a pre-requisite for plants like blueberries. However the effects may take up to one year to achieve! I cannot therefore report on their benefits at this early stage.

Effective and easy to use, but don't expect immediate results
I bought this over a year ago to make my slightly alkaline soil suitable for acid loving plants (not advisable, I know). Now, a year later, this seems to have worked well, and all the plants I used it with look much healthier. However, for best effect you need to dig it down to an inch or more, and also mix it lightly into any compost you use as mulch. It takes a while to work, as soil bacteria have to convert the sulphur first, but it does have an effect in the longer term - particularly in the second summer. (For quick effect in month 1-2, surface treatment with sulphate of iron watered in with cheap vinegar mixed with water seems to do a reasonable job.)

Tastier Blueberries!
This is the first time I’ve tried this method to lower the soil PH levels around my blueberry bush. When I tested the PH is was 6.0, so I want to get it to between 4.5 & 5.0. I’ve added a little now and will add more in the spring next year and then add a before and after photo.
