this heater is great for your tanks
this heater is great for your tanks for your fish and your terrapinsI have had this heater for the least 5 weeks running the water through the heater from the water filter pumpIt is quite easy to connect up to your water filter pump through the outline pipe back into your tankAll of the other heaters I had what goes in the water for my terrapin is keeps pushing the heaters out the water and damaging them but with this heater it has saved my lot of money on heaters to keep on replacing themso all together it is worth it to buy it if you have a terrapin or fish in a tank

Worked for 2 hours. Woke up the next day to dead fish.
I'm so annoyed by this item. It's so important that it works and is reliable, but clearly that's not important for the designers.I set it up and kept a manual measurement for the water temperature for 2 hours to make sure it worked and was calibrated right. Set it to 24.5°C and watched it keep the temperature between 25 and 23.5. (the water temperature was kept at about 26°C on manual measurement with mercury thermometer. So when it worked in that first 2 hours, it wasn't exactly accurate, or precise and allowed 1°C temperature swings... Perfectly acceptable and would have been happy if it continued to do so for at least 1 year... (Note I used this on. 185litre tank, so it should have easily managed)I checked my tank by coincidence the next day (about 12 hours later) and the water temperature had dropped to 18°C, 6 of my 10 green neon tetras were dead and the other 4 looked very stressed.I unplugged and plugged the item multiple times, pressed the button, held the button (tried everything).. and the heater wouldn't even turn on.I didn't get the outside wet or anything during set up. I set it up correctly, in the right orientation. If you do want to gamble on this item (and spend 2 hours cutting into your external filter tubing etc... Then make sure you leave another heater on a slightly lower temperature so it can kick in when this one fails you.Now to spend another hour taking it off my external filter, then 30 mins taking it back to the post office to get my refund. Waste of time, money and the life of many tropical fish.

Pretty good
Running for 2 weeks in a 300l, all good so far.I see reviews here about overheating and plastic melting, but honestly you've got no one else to blame but yourselfs. It's very stupid to trust aquarium equipment. With all my heaters, i run a heater thermostat to stop the potential cooking. And for the housing melting, it might not be vertical, or you're pump is not powerful enought. It relies heavily on the water flow to cool it down.I run it on a 1000l/h (Less in irl). I wouldn't recommend this on smaller canister filters that have an avertised output of 0 - 750 l/h.Just remember that this heater is made for tanks of 200l to 300l (from the wattage).Temperature set is about 0.7-0.8 degrees higher than tank temp (Winter in time of writing so it might be struggling a bit)In terms of seals, they should be inspected every few months, and ideally be replaced every year. This is a lot cheaper from china, but hey at least you don't risk customs.

Good heater
Does exactly what it says. Only draw back it didn't come with UK plug, did however come with an adapter which made the plug stand out about 5 inches from the socket, so easy solution remove 2 prong plug and fit normal plug, no issues since changing plug.

Stopped working after 24h
This item is DANGEROUS. It heated my marine tank to over 35 degrees after being set to 23. It showed E-1 error after 24hrs and smelt like melted plastic! Luckily no fish in tank otherwise it would of killed them.100% not safe, and not worth it. Please be careful!

dont let the negitive reviews put you off this
i have been running this constantly on a 1000lph filter now for over a year with no problems.its simple to set up and aslong as your smart and run it on a surge protector, turn it off during water changes and never let it run dry you wont experance any issues with it.ive mine set up running on a smart plug attached to a surge protector and a temp control plug set to 27c. the unit is hung on the wall with a 3d printed bracket i made up in my spare time just to tidy it up and its kept below the power strip so water can never creap up the wire. semi regular servicing. ive never had a problem but i do keep an internal heater on standby just incase. i run the heater at a constant 25c and even at the far end of the tank it gives a nice consistant reasonably accuract temp though expect some vairancy depending on water flow, water cleanlyness ectordered a new filter for a new tank so ill be buying another today to have on my 3rd tank

Much better than hydor!
Bought this to replace my hydor in line heater for a 200ltr tank. Hydor set at 26 used to range between 27.5 and 24.5. This unit was half the price and my tank is always within 0.5 now. Much more accurate. The hydor also does not display the temp but this one does very clearly. Comes with numerous pipe fittings to fit anything from a 10mm internal to a 20mm internal pipe system so it will go onto almost any decent sized tank with an external filter. Very pleased and far better than the hydor.
