YAMAHA YRS 20BR Recorder - Soprano Recorder, Baroque fingering, Translucent Red

During lock down, myself and my 10-year old daughter got 2 recorders, teamed up and learnt a lot of songs just out of boredom :D. This recorder is perfect for beginners. There are tons of YouTube videos to learn songs in the recorder. I quite liked this one than my daughter's Percussion Plus Recorder, which gives screechy sound at high notes. LOVED THE DEEP RED COLOR. It is so vibrant and rich. Its quite easy to take it apart and clean too (We learnt how to clean our recorders through YouTube and google). Also, transparent nature of it easily shows us when it needs cleaning. Easy to see if its misty/ wet. It doesn't come with a cleaning rod though. It comes with a nice transparent cover.

Lovely looking, and sound is great, easy and fun to clean. My 4-year-old and I love it. Sadly we bought when it was the most expensive, price went down the next day, worth to see how prices change for some colours, but my 4-year-old wanted it right away. Have Yamaha wooden and other recorders, but this one sparked my child's interest in recorder. We plan to buy one colour for everyone in the family (if my son is willing to part from those colours!).

Good recorder. Perfectly in tune, as you'd expect from Yamaha, except for very highest notes in upper register which beginner players won't need much anyway. Transparent green colour looks very cool too. The only downside of transparent recorders is you get to see all your condensation/spit inside it! One slight problem is that the condensation builds up especially in the upper part near the mouthpiece and is actually quite hard to swab out. Some gets left even after washing under running tap. But another benefit of plastic recorder is that you CAN wash it out under running tap. Overall I love this recorder. It plays very well and has a great feel to hold and play.

These Yahama coloured recorders are simply the best recorder you can get. The Aulos are good (but I don't like the mouthpiece as much). They are in tune over two-and-a-half octaves, have a good clear and even tone throughout the range and produce a great sound. I've used these for concerts and recordings and they work brilliantly. If you're thinkiong of getting a recorder for a beginner, you can't do better than this. In fact you can do a lot worse - many other coloured recorders simply don't work properly. Cheap wooden recorders are machine-finished and don't produce such good results although they do have the more reedy "recorder" tone . Yes, you can get a better recorder, but you'll have to pay an awful lot of money for it (imho over £100).

Lovely recorder. Perfect for my 5 year old who is starting lessons. I used to play to a high standard and am totally happy with this recorder. Wish they'd looked like this when I was a kid!! Also got one for my 3 year old (in a different colour) and am able to cope when they both 'play' (for short periods). It comes with a little clear plastic

I love this - it's great quality, comes in a good protective plastic case and the colours are fun. I first started playing a wooden recorder 50 years ago, then everyone moved on to the standard issue brown plastic recorder. Now, these bright and cheerful Yamahas' are a delight - modern progress with no loss of quality.

Purchased this a gift for one of my friends children . Recorder seems well made, & they enjoy playing it :-)

Children can practice with this recorder easier. I wished if the color is little more lighter.Size is good. Easy to adjust the tone. Good recorder. I like it.
