Q: Does this have a soft start motor ?

I’m not sure what you mean by a ‘soft start’ motor, it starts moving when the safety and start are pressed. It doesn’t speed up as it progresses. It can be prevented from a full return by using the screw stop which does save some time on shorter logs. Basically I am pleased with my purchase. Don’t tell anybody that I haven’t fitted the guard though! Jeff

Hello the length between the blades is 430 mm and the overall length is 940 mm

Not to sure about that. Could be 5, could be 7. I bought it as a five ton as per description, and found it more than capable for splitting many tons of very hard, hard wood logs, without any problems. Hope this helps
