Perfect for seed sowing
I've been a gardener for decades but sowing in gutters never occurred to me until I read Sarah Raven on the subject. It's one of those things that seem obvious the moment someone points it out to you. And these are exactly the right length for the heated bench in my greenhouse. I've so far used them for cosmos, lettuces, tomatoes and coriander and I have no reservations about any of them. When you're ready to move them on you simply remove slide them out - there's no damage to the root ball and therefore no check to the seedling's progress.
