Q: Is this small enough for a 10 year old slim girl?

Hi. I think so because it wraps around the wrist and finger with velcro and it does go to a small size. It does have long straps. The only thing I don't like, and this may help you especially as you are looking for a child, the flat metal rod has nothing to hold it in place so does not stay in its pocket and can slip out a little on to the wrist. I hope this helps.

Q: Is the aluminium strip bendable if I need my wrist to be an a permanently different position (for playing a clarinet)?

It can be bent a tiny bit but not a large amount of movement. There are ones that have a thermoplastic strip that can be heated and bent to the required shape, but these tend to come from more specialist suppliers.
