The Delonghi Vintage Icona is a great piece of kit for the price
I had a free trial of the Amazon prime so i used it.. firstly the service was very fast I was using my coffee machine the next day A*..The Delonghi Vintage Icona is a great piece of kit for the price. I Am pleased to say that buying with trusty old Amazon I saved £54.00. House of Fraser are selling this exact product for £159.99! Your paying for the shop name guys don't fall for it!.. I was 50/50 when i decided to purchase this due to the bad feedback out doing the positive. I'm Glad I didn't listen and bought the machine, I am so happy with it that invited a few mates round and made them drinks.(also loved it and buying as Christmas presents). It makes a perfect drink every time as long as its used correctly, warm the cups, get milk frothed to correct temperature and follow instructions.. The only draw back to this awesome bit of kit is that the drip tray does rattle if the cups been used to collect the coffee or water are too light. doesn't bother me much as i just weight it down.. Just be aware guys the the House of Fraser description imply's it has a coffee grinder built in. This is not true they are just miss selling the product and trying to get an extra 54.99 out of customers!

Never worked properly
Never worked properly. Didn't build up pressure. DeLonghi didn't want to know. Terrible customer service with Cs agent even saying that she didn't care whether we never purchased Delonghi again as plenty others will.

It makes a mean espresso...when it works - and the nozzle leaks
I was divided about this product. I like the retro look of it. And if you can get it to work, it makes a mean espresso. But about 60% it simply drips small droplets of coffee into your cup. I'm not sure if it is something I'm doing wrong or the product. If you are motivated to buy this product because it looks cool, you will probably assume it is me and not the product ;) If you read the 1-star reviews for this product most of these unhappy reviewers complain about the product leaking water. In particular, it is the nozzle on the side that leaks water. But for many happy customers their nozzle does not leak. Mine does leak - a lot! I have to keep a small jar underneath it while it's on to collect the water. Otherwise it's all over my counter. (I know - it's not the end of the world - it's just a little annoying that's all.) So in the end, this product is a gamble. You may get one that works and does not leak (my friend has one and his does not leak), and you will enjoy the wonderful espresso it makes, or you may be disappointed waiting for droplet espresso, wiping down your counter everyday. It's a coin toss.

Beautiful quality machine, and makes a lovely coffee too.
I had this coffee makers big brother until my husband broke it (clumsiness not design fault) when I was pregnant 2 years ago and conveniently I couldn't notice it! I eventually got treated to a replacement of which I chose this beauty, it is a gorgeous piece of kitchen equipment with soft curves and sleek lines and matches our kitchen perfectly. At 15 months use it is still in great condition with intact seals and no damage to the steam wand.It makes a gorgeous cup of coffee too, once you get into the swing of stopping it at your taste, short and strong espresso , bit shorter for ristretto or longer for lungo or for the faint hearted longer towards Americano.this design is an upgrade from its older sibling, the water tank is placed better for access, the steam wand is much more sturdy, the drip tray is easier to take out and wash and the top is metal to act as a cup warmer (though my fine cups rattle too much on it to take a risk)I really appreciate the choice of ground espresso/ coffee or the ESE style pods (effectively a teabag having an identity crisis) as my husband is notorious for forgetting to empty the grounds, it means a less gross job later to simply pick a cold pod out then wash.I would heed advice from using its deceased older sibling,Always wipe the steam wand (dried boiled milk is a git to remove) descale regularly especially in hard water areas, try to use filter water if possible, run a cleaning cycle (run the machine with no coffee to clean out everything) and check the water tank seals regularly for damage and you will enjoy fantastic coffee from a gorgeous machine.

No Crema!
Bought this machine and it made a flat coffee, the equivalent of a cafetière coffee. It had no crema at all so I was very disappointed. Sure it was the fault of this particular machine as I have friends with similar Delonghi machines and they are fine but it was a lot of hassle and time wasted. Ended up buying the cheaper version, the EC155 and that is producing a great coffee with crema!
