Unit failed to turn on
This product is for a business. We installed drives into unit and started setting it up. It ran for 1 day. Plugged into a UPS backup as well. After 1 day, the unit would not respond with any power. All connections and power sources checked and re-checked. Message sent through Amazon on 9/20/24 to send a replacement unit ASAP. Waiting on response. Upon replacement, I will write another review.

Came with unsupported drives
I suppose since this was a package deal the drives would be compatible with the synology but when I attempted to create the storage pool it tells me the drives were not on the compatibility drive list.

M.2 SSD are not on approved list
The system arrived quickly, well packaged and everything was intact. As they noted, some assembly was required but this was pretty straightforward and I had the system assembled in less than an hour. The Synology system was easy to detect and it quickly install the update to bring it to DSM 7.2. All this was good. The package came with a memory stick - a bit hidden but easy enough to install and the total memory is actually 10GB not 6GB - so a nice surprise. The four hard disk drives are not on the compatibility list, a minor annoyance, as they seem to work fine and have no limitations. The M.2 SSD are also not on the approved list and this is a problem. I can use them as an SSD Cache which seems to be a means to speed up the hard disk volume, but I cannot set them up as a separate volume. Their use is restricted. This is my first use of M.2 SSD so I'm still learning how to use them and the optimal use, but it seems to me as system should be shipped with components that do not place restrictions on their use.

M.2 SSD not compatible
I am satisfied with the system and its overall performance. There was an issue with the two M.2 NVMe SSDs. Unfortunately, they aren't compatible with the DiskStation DS423+. As a result, they are unusable for creating a Storage Pool. I had to purchase a different set of two M.2 SSDs as a replacement. The rest is working fine otherwise.

Solid product, terrible delivery and support.
When this was delivered one of the drives was dead. Have gotten nothing but the runaround from Synology support about replacing the drive. Within a day of running the unit a second drive went bad. I am now not getting any response from Synology support. Looks like I will be purchasing two brand new drives myself to put in this. Absolutely terrible customer service from Synology.
