A Reason to Smile
I pretty much love Hello Kitty everything. I bought an electric sandwich maker that was worthless because it mushed everything flat and what little you could put on the inside went all over the place. But this one is great because the center, where the face is, has room for your fillings and the sides seal closed. The Hello Kitty face comes out perfectly.I use medium heat on my gas stove. To prepare I melt a little butter and apply directly on both sides of the sandwich. Then clamp it closed and I do each side for 1.5 minutes.I'm attaching a picture of my first attempt which was slightly longer cooking but I never took a picture the next time I made one. But you get the idea. The overall quality of the sandwich with the lightly buttered bread and the insides staying inside the sandwich makes this a perfect grill cheese maker. And because it is so easy to clean I use it more often than a lot of my kitchen gadgets.

Really good, handle could be longer
It did its job but if the handle was longer I could have avoided burning myself. It was mostly user error but still something to keep in mind before purchasing.

So cute!
The media could not be loaded. I'm hello kitty fan and absolutely love this pan! It's well made. The pan is non-stick. The instructions are in Japanese so I used google to translate. It made a really good grilled cheese sandwich with adorable kitty on it. 😍😻

Instructions for Use!
All of the writing on the box is in Japanese. I used the Google Translate app for the Instructions:1. Connect the main body and apply a thin layer of butter or margarine.2. Place a piece of bread on the main body and place ingredients in the center. Place the ingredients so they fit in the dent in the center mold. You can check the position of the dent by holding down the bread with a spoon or the like.3. Put another piece of bread on top and close the unit.4. Place the griddle on the trivet and put the main body on it, put the ring on the handle and heat one side over low heat for about 6 to 8 minutes. *It is recommended to use a griddle as it makes it easier to put the main body on. The heating time will vary slightly depending on the degree of fire. *When making, continuously, if the main body is hot, please adjust by shortening the heating time.5. Flip over and heat over low heat for about 5 minutes. Make sure the ring hangs on the ring hook after turning it over. Holding the handle may cause the ring to come off.6. Turn off the heat, check the doneness and take out the hot sandwich. *The browning color may vary slightly depending on the strength of the fire.I hope this helps!

Gas stove top fun
I learned to use these when I was just a kid at camp and never forgot they made the best tasting sandwiches ever. still do! We even make pies with them.Just butter your crust and stuff the sandwich inside. We love ham and cheese or grilled cheese.Best to season prior to initial use with oil. Google how to season cast iron. You don't have to, but it keeps it more non-stick.We also use butter and cinnamon and sugar and fill with apple pie filling. The melty goodness is just amazing.Kids love this! This one is best over a gas burner in your kitchen. The handles aren't long enough for an open fire like some are. But it will work over some of the firepits with a propane tank or hook up...those thin gas lines. These just make the most amazing grilled sandwiches! You butter the outside of the bread, stuff your filling, mayo or mustard etc, close. It seals the bread slices together and they get SO crispy on the outside. Better than any other grilled cheese I have ever had and filled with hot cheesy goodness! My favorite! This one makes a Hello Kitty imprint as well!

Very Cute, a Bit Delicate
This sandwich maker is very cute. It is in two pieces that connect with a hinge. The ability to separate the two halves makes it easier to clean and also allows it to be used as a sort of frying pan for things like eggs when camping which is a plus. I tested it with a grilled cheese sandwich and found that it worked quite well with regular sandwich bread and a few slices of cheese. I just used it on my gas stove and it heated nicely. Before cooking the sandwich, I melted butter in the pan, closing it and flipping it over to coat both sides. I'll probably do this a bit differently next time because it was a bit messy. The butter is able to come out the sides a bit. It wouldn't be an issue if cooking over a campfire but it did get some melted butter on my stove. It was easy enough to open the pan to check how browned the sandwich had gotten to know when to flip it. Cooking was fast and I had no issues with sticking. The hello kitty face was clear and the sides were pressed in to make a sandwich pocket reminiscent of an uncrustable. My daughter loved it. When I was done, it also cleaned relatively easily (I washed by hand and used a toothbrush to get into the crevices). The big downside is that it does seem to have a bit of a delicate coating. Mine came with a tiny chip in the coating (not anywhere that matters and very tiny) but I'm worried that it will scratch easily if it comes in contact with any kind of metal. The other negative for me as an English speaker was that all of the instructions were written in Japanese. This wasn't a huge issue since it was easy enough to figure out and I was able to use Google Translate's photo feature to sort of get an idea of what the instructions said.If you are a fan of Hello Kitty, camping, or grilled sandwiches, I would recommend this as a fun way to make some cute, tasty sandwiches.

Great for grilled sandwiches and super kawaii
This was so easy to use over an open flame. Just butter it up and add your bread and filling. We used ham and cheese and grilled it over our fire pit. I should have kept it on the fire a little longer for extra crispness but it was delicious and had this adorable Hello Kitty imprint. Clean up was a cinch too. The plates come apart for easy clean up. I’m super happy with this and I highly recommend it.
