Genuine Replacement Cable for SENNHEISER HD518 HD558 HD598 HD598CS HD598SE HD598SR Headphones with 1/4" 6.3mm plug

It's really a crime to not use this original cable for your Sennheiser headphones (when possible). I've tried a few of the so called upgrade cables, and the ones I've tried don't sound as good. *****Realize that there are people all the time trying to give what they believe is good advice. They'll say things like "cables really don't matter, they all sound the same, the build quality and durability is the only issue."*****....... PURE NONSENSE. Now these people aren't technically lying. Lying is knowing the truth and saying something other than the truth. People that say cables don't matter are just not aware that their hearing is not as sensitive as other people's hearing. Basically you have to be self aware. I can hear differences that others cannot. Maybe you can too, or can't. I like to play a random song for 20 or 30 seconds about 3 or 4 times with one set of cable and then do the same with another. I always hear how superior the original Sennheiser cable is when I connect it and listen. The instruments are better separated and don't bleed into each other so much, and it's just all around less crowded and stressing, more musical and easier flowing.....For portable so far I'm able to put my Topping NX2 amp, and Sansa Clip Jam in the "Case Logic QHDC-101 Portable EVA Hard Drive Case" along with a Sennheiser Cable Adapter Female 1/4" 6.3mm to Male 1/8" 3.5mm Plug to relieve stress on the amp, and of course the genuine original Sennheiser cable. I also have a Fiio E12A which is a nicer amp but 1.25 inches longer and doesn't fit in the same hard case with my preferred attachments.******* The Hard Drive Case from Case Logic that I mention DOES HAVE A BELT LOOP, though it may be sewed closed. The threads can easily be cut with a knife and the belt loop is great!

I am replacing my second cable which makes this one the third for this pair of 599SE's I use. Each cable beforehand lasted about 2 years each. Eventually they get pinched and frayed somewhere causing one or both ears to go out. The cable I received is legitimate and sounds as good as new! Sennheiser gets all my kudos for making a replaceable cable for such high quality headphones. These things will last me a decade probably if not more.Don't bother with off brand replacements. I hear that they lower the audio quality and get frayed much quicker. Besides, the real ones are only about double the price of the crappy ones. Worth every penny!

I’ve owned 4 Sennheiser cans over the past 25 years. I still own 2 and sold the other 2 so I can attest to their build quality & QC. I tried expensive aftermarket cables for both my HD 700’s and for my HD 598’s and have been solidly underwhelmed by every last one. I have quality audio components and a keen ear and should you decide to take my review under advisement, I’d highly recommend saving your money (if you were considering expensive alternatives) and just sticking with Sennheiser. I can say the same for those considering cheaper alternatives- save a little more money to get the real-deal. These are quality and will last a good amount of time with correct usage. Now, enjoy some music!

Fits perfectly on my Sennheiser HD598d cs headphones. Long cord gives me room to move with no sound degradation.

Its the same one you get with your headphones. Replaced ones for my HD 599. Wish the cable was braided so my cats couldn't chew through it but ya know...

The cable I got looks and sounds different (but close) to the original. I ordered one from Sennheiser directly and it seems identical to the original. The Amazon order was provided by AUDIO EQUIP.

Headset variant: HD599 SELower review just because the cable in general is fragile. I've run my headset over with my chair several times (don't ask how); but you look at this cable wrong and it'll dust itself. Still, same audio quality if you don't trust other cables- but completely overpriced.

I purchased these headphones about 7 years ago and somehow my wife managed to cut the cable while sizing a tablecloth. Needless to say these are excellent headphones as are the cables that originally came with it.
