Q: Why is the finished video grainy and blurry when it is not when run through a projector?

I suspect many users have found the end product blurry and blamed it on the MP4 compression. It is very easy to miss one of the four small teeth that hold the film in the viewing area. If you do, the film will appear to scan normally and the picture will be there but blurry. I figured this out, and now manually feed the film through this area rather than the contorted turn and twist procedure suggested in the instructions. Feed the end through under the four teeth, and lock down the film cover assembly. Then thread the film to the take-up reel, very slowly and carefully, using the record function if desired (you will have to stop it once to get film on take-up reel, which will then create two files, no big deal as they can be assembled later with common software). Results are spectacular and I could not be happier for the $300 investment. The 5 inch display allows for an enjoyable tabletop viewing with friends as you process each reel. Highly recommended for the money, and there is very little available out there, trust me. I spent months researching.

The the Kodak Reels digizer comes with a USB cable to access from a computer or TV that cam play mp4 files. My recommendation is that after digitizing film, make a copy onto your computer or phone with the USB upload function. Then make as many copies of the media as you want onto much more portable USB thumb drives.
