I'm by no means an expert about playing cards. I do have a couple decent decks and was able to compare this deck to a standard Bicycle set and a set of Monarchs by theory11 (neither are super nice; perhaps just slightly above average). The Coddies Fish deck compared well. Not as nice, but pleasing and worth having. I liked the designs on the face-side of the cards a lot. The paper itself was fine, though it didn't have the textured quality and feel that the two other sets had.I'd say this is absolutely a perfectly good value deck of cards. If you want a cheap set and you like the designs, I can't see how you'd go wrong.

For fun, I collect decks of playing cards. Prior to this, I had not heard of the “Coddies” brand, but when I saw these become available, I saw that they were unique to my collection, so I ordered them right away.They arrived in a tuck box that was wrapped in plastic. I noticed that the design on the box does not match the backs of the cards. This deck includes 52 regular playing cards and 2 jokers. I do not know if it is important, but there is not “one eyed jacks” or “suicide kings”. The graphic designs with great colors are done very well. The fish theme is consistent throughout the entire deck in a fun and entertaining way.The quality of these playing cards did not impress me. I compared them with a couple of cards from other decks and they feel thinner and less stiff. There is a shiny coat on them and they do not stick, so they are easy to shuffle, hold, and play. However, when I was shuffling them, one folded. It went back into shape, but there was a small dent in the card. The size of these cards is listed as the regular 2.5” x 3.5”, but when I lined one of them up with other brands, the “Coddies” one was a bit smaller at the top and on the sides. Not very much, about 1/16th of an inch or less.I would recommend this deck of “Coddies” fish playing cards as a novelty item, but not if you are hoping for long time play.
