A worthy sacrifice to the kvas (KBAC) god or goddess
I have tweaked my kvas recipe this Summer and that's good because it's been very hot already in the West. I have just toasted my fifth loaf of bread for the kvas season. I have always loved beer but kvas is obviously much better for you and I prefer the refreshment that comes from it. I am old, so I think kvas is much healthier for me. So now I am getting supplies to try making kvas in the colder weather. I almost feel guilty to sacrifice such a great bread but my kvas is much better than the too sweet commercial stuff.

Like a light pumpernickel
Cossack rye bread. This is nicely crafted bread. Baked evenly (no large holes).Has just a few basic ingredients ,(no many-sylable chemicals in the ingredient list.)Person who likes pumpernickel will like this, as it tastes like a lighter loaf of pumpernickel.Arrived fresh. Can recommend

Delivery was not timely.
Bread was tasty, but not very fresh. It was ordered on Feb 7 and didn’t arrive until Feb 18. The packaging was good and it was sent via priority mail insured, but it shouldn’t have taken that long to be delivered from Brooklyn NY to New Jersey. So I am not sure if that’s the fault of the bakery or the postal service. Either way I probably won’t order it again.

Takes me back to my European childhood
This is the bread my Omi used to bake. When you take it out of the package, the intense aroma tells you all you "knead" to know. It's a thing of beauty for your senses. Pro tip: after ordering from Amazon, send the company an email requesting the loaf to be sliced, if you like.
