Dorman 639-041 Replenishment Bulb

This perfectly fit a the climate control lights on a 2003 Toyota Camry.

I see several reviews that say the base is too soft and deforms when trying to install. What I found is not that the base is too soft. It's that it just isn't made right. The 2 blue on the left are the Dorman. The gray on the right is factory original. Where they are supposed to rotate and grip the circuit board, the ears are shaped wrong, and the shape is not consistent. The pictures show the bulbs from both sides so you can see how they vary. Poor design and poor quality control. There's also seams from the mold that I think are keeping them from turning. The original is smoothly finished and has the taper to start rotating them into place. It installs very easy with little pressure and no force needed. The Dorman would not start at all and would definitely deform the screwdriver slot if I pushed it any harder. I think these might work if I used an exacto knife to clean up the rough seams and reshape the attachment ears, but I shouldn't have to modify them. Definitely go with the factory bulbs if you can find them.

Bulbs do not secure well. Used wadded up electrical tape to hold in place. So far working well.

These lights worked for the back of my AC controls in my 2002 Camry. LED variants didnt work

Installed fine in Camry for HVAC backlighting- a little snug, but still fit OK.Lasted about 6 hrs of use and then burnt out.

Delivery was fast, and the bulb worked. The plastic base did not. It's supposed to twist a quarter turn and lock in place via the notch on the side. The notch wasn't the right size and the plastic was too soft (it deformed with a screwdriver twist). I ended up unwinding the wires and swapping the bulbs with the original Toyota base, which was much harder plastic and fit correctly.
