Easy to set up

Works great, half the price of liftmaster keypad. Programed first time, no trouble. Same exact size went right on in place of the old one. The only difference I can see is you have to punch in the code to close the door, no worries. I think these things are susceptible to the elements eventually have to replace from time to time.

Opener easy to read instructions, install and operate only after original 9v battery is replaced with a Fresh New Battery!.Ordered twice before realizing the replacement had same defective low battery issues…..

Working as expected

I have installed 3 of these universal keypad remotes on my garage doors. They replace the original units that came with the Genie branded openers.Programming instructions are provided, and they worked well for me. The only challenge was identifying which Genie opener I had because the instructions differ for different manufacturers and models. Once that was determined, the instructions provided for my model worked perfectly.I consider these units to be better than the original units because they use 9v batteries. My old units either used 2 AAA size batteries or an N-size 12v battery. In both of those case, the battery terminals would start to corrode over time and, even though the battery was not dead, they keypad would stop working. IMO - the snap clip style battery connection of this keypad unit is less likely to corrode.The only shortcoming of this universal keypad is that it can only be programmed with a single code; it can't be used to open 2 different doors individually. So, if you have multiple garage doors that you want to be able to open, you will need multiple keypads.

This Universal Garage Door Opener Keypad is a great value and was easy to install. It is nearly identical in size, construction and function to the 20-year old Craftsman Model 139.53684 unit it replaced. The manufacturer’s posted information did not include my specific garage door model (Craftsman 139.53914) but it is a perfect match. It came with a 9 volt battery and clear instruction. I programmed and mounted the unit on October 10, 2024. It took this 80-year old only 30 minutes to read the instruction and complete the installation having never done it before.
