I purchased two of these when replacing the back struts of my Infiniti EX35. The genuine Infiniti ones (552401BA0A) are about $30 more each, and alternatives from companies like KYB, while adequate, are hard plastic bellows-style covers and don't seem as durable. These seemed great for the price.Pros:- Cheap! Infiniti ones are about $40-45 online (which is a little crazy for simple rubber covers), and these hover around $15.- Material seems to be quite close to the original part- Similar in look to the original, if that matters to you- the top part properly and securely snaps into both the original shock mounts and the KYB equivalent replacements (KYB SM5735 in my case). It takes a little bit of force, and a few drops of water help.Cons:- Febest's description of their product is seriously misleading: they claim "GERMAN QUALITY CONTROL: Febest's German quality control experts ensure that all parts are of the utmost quality" and superior rubber... The box they come in lists them as made in China. I highly doubt they have German quality controllers in their Chinese factories. The rubber has the same strong smell as most cheap rubber products manufactured in China. Not necessarily a knock on the overall quality (rubber seems reasonably fine), but don't be misled by the German claim, thinking these were manufactured in Europe.- Quality control actually seems very poor: out of the two units I bought, one was perfectly cylindrical and smooth, but the other was permanently squished and out of round (this didn't happen in shipping, since the boxes are hard and square - it happened in manufacturing). I expect the strut to rub along the inside of the boot and wear it out much faster than if it was properly shaped. The defective one also showed poor molding - it had bits of second skin peeling off both the inside and outside.- The bump stop it comes with doesn't snap in to the inside/top of the boot, so it just freely rides up and down on the shaft of the strut. Might not be a problem, but seeing as the material of one of the units seems to peel off a bit, I'm concerned that the bump stop rubbing up and down inside the boot while driving might ablate some material over time and gum up the shaft at the seal. I have no proof of this yet.Would I purchase again? It's a mixed bag. While they're as close to the genuine Infiniti part as you can get, the quality control is disappointing. I wish I could give them 2.5 stars to truly give them a middling rating. To me they are miles ahead of the shiny hard plastic bellows the other companies sell, but behind the originals in terms of manufacturing. If you are replacing your struts and your original Infiniti covers are still in great shape, by all means: reuse them! If you do need to replace your boots and don't want to spend the sizable extra chunk of change on genuine Infiniti parts, then these seem to be the next best thing. Just don't be afraid to tell Febest (or your seller) if you get a bad unit.Hope this helps!EDIT: within a few hours of my complaining to the seller/distributor about the defective boot, a hand-picked replacement was on its way to me with expedited shipping. Great customer service!
