Nice quality
I already bought a cheaper mortice lock to replace on my bathroom, but the strike plate was excessively long and woudln't fit without chiselling a whole bunch more out of my door frame for no reason.Bought this Yale one instead, and quality is nicer, and ended up being a like for like replacement.Warning: You may need to reverse the main latch mechanism, which they make it sound like it's a trivial task. And it probably is when you are prepared, but if not then opening the enclosure will probably result in lots of metal pieces falling out of place, and two strong springs firing off.If you need to do this, it's best to search youtube tutorials BEFORE you even open the enclosure. The lock does come with instructions on how to reverse the latch, but they are very poor and will not tell you how to reassemble all the components properly when they inevitably dislocate in your hands.

Seems decent enough to me
People moaning that when they open it up to adjust left / righthandedness the insides spring apart. Putting it back together is child's play, there are a couple of springs but they're not strong and are easy to put back in place. No tiny pieces. How hard is it to take a photo before you start? Here, have mine.

Overall good. Packaging design and product design could be improved though
The item came as described. Seems to be a good quality product. After installation, the appearance was good, and the mechanism seems to function well. The screws that came with it were good. Some minor downsides mean it doesn't get 5 stars.Downside 1: Packaging. The product came in a retail pack which was quite a thick clear plastic shell that is supposed to hang on a long hook in a shop. It was firmly (thermally?) sealed all the way round the outside meaning that to open it required cutting it with strong scissors, which is both difficult and risks injury to the person doing it. Also it means that if the product is not right, it is not possible to package it back up for a mint return. I understand that the supplier wants the product to arrive with the consumer in good condition to minimise breakage losses, and I get that the supplier wants the product to be safe from components becoming lost along the way, but I still think the manufacturer could come up with a better packaging design.Downside 2: Somewhat difficult to turn the main bolt over. The main bolt has an angled end so that if the door is closed without retracting the bolt the striker plate will push the bolt back and allow the door to close. The unit was supplied with the main bolt in the reverse orientation to which I needed it. To turn it over required opening the case, dismantling the mechanism, including removing the main spring (tricky), and re-fitting the main spring (tricky). I understand that this item is intended as a "Tradesman Fit" or "Advanced DIY Fit", and turning the bolt over is a one-time installation thing, but I still think that the manufacturer could come up with a better product design that allows for the main bolt to be reversed more easily.

Good quality
Found the lock to be very sturdy and fitted into the original lock hole with very adjustment. My top tip is to keep the original handle and lock bar to avoid having to cut the one provided to size. Saying that it only needed a basic hacksaw to cut it.

Perfect replacement
After my bathroom door lock broke I removed it to measure. Found this item on amazon and it was cheap and fitted perfectly.

Fiddly to change direction of lock.
Lock and instructions looked okay, however I had to take the lock apart to change the angled bolt around (as door other way round). Unfortunately stripped the one tiny phillips screw holding the two halves of the lock together, then had to drill the screwhead out. The lock then burst open, and had to work out how to replace the workings myself, as instructions did not show all the workings. End result is OK, lock is now installed and working.

Yale a trusted brand.
Changing bathroom lock from old type to this new size was a challenge, as I already got some small latches for standard door handles, I thought to make the bathroom more modern. Very pleased with results even if it took me half a day, but slow and steady. Vale is good quality; the only thing I had to do was reverse the inside; this is quite simple; there is a screw which removes the plate. So you pull back the spring inside and can turn around the catch part, so if you open door left or right can be used for anyway.Worse case pay a pretty penny for chippy to do the job! Otherwise decent lock and looks good.
