I received my copy of the book today and have been impressed by the depth of insight into why football shirts garner so much adoration and cult-like following. At 288 pages, there's plenty of bang for your buck, the images are fantastic, the coffee table style is of a high quality, and the author's selection of strips to review and ruminate about are measured and well-chosen. Part of the fun is flicking through and seeing which shirts you have had, or may still have (I think I'm up at around the 20 mark already) and which shirts may have gone under the radar. I'd highly recommend this to any football fan with an interest in kits. You can pull it open at any page and find something of interest.

This book is a very interesting an insightful read on the subject of football shirts from the viewpoint of a collector and a fan of football in general. John Blair, with some genuinely great writing, brings the reader into a deep understanding of this whole area. It is an invitation to understand and enjoy this window into the world of football with approachable and fun personal insights and expertise abounding.

This is a very stylish coffee table book. The cover looks great and the images inside are high quality, making it great to pick up and dip into. But it’s much more than that, there’s loads of brilliant insight into both football shirts themselves and the ever more popular business of collecting them. Whether you’re a football enthusiast or not the writing draws you in and there are plenty of interesting facts and insight to keep you reading. The pictures add to the reading experience and it’s fun to pick out the kits you have owned over the years! A really fantastic read, well recommended.

This is a great addition to anyone’s book collection, coffee table etc. My kids are mad about football kits and this is a fascinating book with great pictures, superb facts and lots of info if you are interested in collecting kits yourself. A great gift for any football fan, old or young.
