Failed at the job site.. DO NOT BUY
Final update: Forklift jack stopped working when I was at a customer and they were waiting on me so they could go home. The carriage lowers by itself even with handle fully tightened. It bypasses when I am lifting and doesnt do anything to pick the forklift up from the blocks it was resting. I emailed Torin for warranty information with no reply as I bought this less than 1 year ago. I will be taking this to a mom and pop shop for repair as I am sure for Torin they will want this shipped back, so this repair would be less than what it will cost me to ship this out... Wasted my money, wasted my time, I embarrassed myself in front of my customer. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENTUPDATE: at a job I had a forklift up on blocks, my repair was done so it was time to leave.... until my jack stopped working. It seems the fluid was leaking back through the lowering valve. I tightened up pretty good and still wouldn't lift the forklift; during a quick drift test it was lowering by itself about 1mm every 4 minutes. unacceptable. I pumped the jack and lifted it up as far as it would go then lowered it quickly and shut the lowering valve so I could lift again. I think something is acting up with the valve. After about an extra hour at the customer I managed to get the forklift off the blocks and returned to service. I cant have this happen to me. I will take it apart and see what I can find. I will look into another floor jack if I cant fix this.really heavy about 105 lbs. the jack handle had a huge dent on it but I don't care its only a jack handle. The handle is too long since it takes zero effort to lift a forklift. My old floor jack had a conventional 1/2 inch diameter pipe about 3 feet in length that it used as a handle. The piston is very tiny, it takes many pumps to get the floor jack to lift... I kind of want to replace it already. you get what you pay for I understand but cmon they could have made this cheaper by not making it so friggin heavy!

Works great but add bracing!
The one I got was black, not red. Works the same. The lifting point is 2 3/4". In my case, on gravel, I had to dig a hole for it to fit under the mast, the only lifting point I had in the front of my forklift.Probably not ideal, but it was heavy steel. In case the jack sank, I put wooden blocks on each side, "just in case."In this instance, it turned out to be critical.I removed one wheel in the front, a drive wheel, it was so heavy that the forklift started to tip over slowly to the opposite side!Since I had blocked it, it was stopped by the wooden block.I tried pushing it level from the other side, but it was too heavy.I put a 3,000# jack under the far side and lifted it. I then added 1" boards to each side.I took the wheels to a forklift company to have the tires changed (pressed off & on, an interesting operation.)I asked the tech if he'd ever have one tip over? Yes, several. I was surprised.Moral: brace, brace, brace!

Don't buy it
This is an absolute piece of junk. I purchased this item to occasionally change a tire on a forklift. The valve doesn't work right. It sometimes won't pump up and if you get it to pump up, it slowly leaks down. After 2 or 3 uses it is totally junk. I could find no warrenty information other then the Amazon 30 day return.

Superior quality
Easy to order, superior quality, and prompt delivery. Very satisfied.

Does exactly as described
The cost of having someone come and remove and install a forklift tire is more than the cost of buying and shipping. Now we have a jack to use as desired. Worked fine lifting up one side of a forklift truck weighing about 9,500 lbs.

Seals blew
We have had this jack for a little over a month now and the seals blew out. I am trying to find out warranty information on this, but don't know where to find it. I am hoping to replace this jack with something that won't break within 2 months time. If someone can contact me, I would appreciate it.

HOW is a jack named BIG RED painted black?
I was looking forward to the high visibility of red,was disappointed when it was painted black,MAKES NO SENSE to name a jack BIG RED and paint it black.I bought this to use when my main jack was being rebuilt, and to have a secondary, heavier lift jack. This thing weighs a TON,which kind of sucks but isn't the end of the world, the p real problem is,the strokes barely move the truck a millimeter,it takes 100 strokes of the handle to lift the truck 4 inches, and with the "automotive type" rotating handle to release pressure, you are guaranteed to accidentally let the jack down while trying to lift the equipment. You have to do so many handle strokes to go so high, you find yourself trying to go faster, which makes you spin the handle, releasing pressure. Would NOT recommend for anyone trying to use this thing on any type of regular basis.
