Does the Job
The frame of the saw has to be flexed so it provides tension to stop the blade buckling and snapping. Of course to manage fine cuts the blades (only one supplied) are very fine and case-hardened so they are easily broken. Remember to buy extra blades, Iguarantee you will need them. A fretsaw needs skill to use effectively.

Good little saw
For those like me with heavy hands you need to learn to be gantlet with it. But it's a solid tool and worth the money. Order some extra blades. I went through the two provided quite quickly.

Saw
Fiddly to change blade but nice little saw.

Blade was virtually useless.
Blade was only fit for cutting thick card. Blade broke within a few minutes of cutting 5mm fibre board. Rwould recommend spending your money on something of better quality. (Added later) having since bought better quality blades, this saw seems good for cutting thin metal and plywood up to 7mm.

Not supplied with a blade ffs
All I wanted was a cheap piece of rubbish to cut one piece of wood for my daughter's project. The photo of this item shows a blade and in the description it says it comes without batteries (thank God that was clarified otherwise I'd have spent hours wondering why my arm wasn't working) but nothing about blades. I'm not sure I can actually be bothered to order a pack of blades and the handle will make good kindling for my stove.

Blade provided too weak
The saw looks sturdy however the blade provided is too weak and flimsy, it snapped immediately as pressure was applied

Great value, useful saw
Bought this in order to make guitar scratchplates using jewellers blades, the very small ones.I'd already got a small jewellers saw, which is very useful for roughing out guitar nuts and saddles. This Silverline fret saw has got a wide enough reach in the throat to make a complete scratchplate.I'd wondered sometime in the future about getting an electric scroll saw, but the results from this are very good.Anyway it's much more satisfying to do it by hand, and a lot cheaper
