Good value
Having tried a few pH meters, this is by far the best for the money. It's the only one in the price range that offers the option of replacing the probe assembly. This component is the most likely to suffer accidental breakage in all meter s(I am replacing a unit after dropping from chest height onto a hard surface) . Buying a spare is always a good idea and at £20 does save a few bob, and worth it for the convenience when needed. My only criticism is that there is no back-light light on the display. The hold function can be used to record a pH then present to a light source for reading, though i much prefer to see the reading stabilise myself as i have more confidence in spotting any problems . My preference is to use a torch to take active readings if using in the dark.(The fault after dropping was apparent on use as an unstable temp, and when checking against standard buffers pH was inaccurate. Re-calibration proved impossible) .The first i had was about 5 years old and gave accurate reading for that time. Two probes were used and were both breakages rather than loss of function. (I think) the recommendation is change after 18 months, but is largely dependant on whether stored correctly.. Changing the seal between probe and electronics housing when changing probes is good maintenance .as some cracks were noticed in the 'O' ring. on one occasion.

Good little PH Meter.
I have 2 of these ph meters and and they both work really well. I've replaced the probe on my original one after 2 years and its back to normal. Second ph meter is my backup.

Doesn't last long. Wait until recalibrating errors.
Looks professional, has dedicated support, doesn't really differ from chinesium 3 times cheaper. Doesn't last long, two months average, 2x re-calibrations every 3weeks in approx, third one went unpredictable, trying to calibrate in pouchh of attached buffer 7, asks for 10 (had it too, provided), then same back again. GOES IN ENDLESS LOOP.i have another, same one, tried restarting settings, swapping probes, cleaning and nothing works, they are crap after certain time of use.Been well looked after, kept in silicone cap partially left with water to prevent drying.

returned
was out on the reading by 1.4ph after re-calibrated it twice to make sure it was calibrated correctly, it was tested along side another ph meter by Essentials which was also calibrated at the same time to check it.
