Purchased (4) for 4’11” windows and they worked really well. Nice dark brown color and very sturdy and super easy to put up.

We put this rod up to hold medium-weight curtains in a fairly wide window (wider than standard) about 5 months ago, and so far it's holding up beautifully. It looks nice and I like that it doesn't leave any holes in the window frame, as we are in a rental (that doesn't cover its windows for tenants and has non-standard windows).One note: the instructions advised me to use the extra support that was included in the package as my window is very wide... it has a sticky backing and an option to nail it in, and the instructions say you can use EITHER method. The sticky method was ineffective for us. I cleaned and dried the spot where I was going to put it. Then I held it in place for at least 5 minutes. I left it alone for at least 3 hours. Then I put up the bar, using tension against the sides plus the support, and the support fell off almost immediately. Once I put the rod up again without the support, it worked better.

Good quality rod

I purchased this for my bathroom wi Dow, the rod fit nice and snug ; I decided not to actually use it because I didn’t like how dark the curtains made my bathroom feel(sunlight wasn’t able to get in) but that had nothing to do with the quality.

Works well and looks quite nice.The curtain rod is easy to work with - if I hold it at a downward angle, it will start to extend which is convenient.I do not use heavy curtains so I cannot comment on how much weight it will hold but it holds my light filtering curtains and occasionally a piece of laundry without any trouble.

So far, so good. I bought this several weeks ago, with some trepidation since a few reviewers said it fell off the wall and had other complaints. However, it looked better than anything I could find locally, because the space to span was pretty long. Needed it to hang some inexpensive, lightweight curtains along one side of a covered patio, as a light sun shade to protect the breakfast table from the glare of the early-morning sun. It has now been up more than long enough for any issues to develop: so far no problem. It was easy to install. It does not sag. It stays put. Its appearance is unobtrusive. What more could one want?

My son’s dorm doesn’t allow nails or screws in the walls so we had to use a tension rod for his curtains. This one worked perfectly!

I own other Umbra curtain rods and have been pleased with them. I thought I'd be happy with this one as well, and it worked great for the first couple of weeks, but now not so much. Unfortunately, it keeps falling down every time I try to open the curtains it's supposed to be holding up so it's going to get returned.On a positive note, it's quite sturdy and very easy to install.
