Nice compact weather station
Nice size and bright clock display with great auto-dimming feature for night-time hours. Easy set up and actually connected with the outside temperature sensor much faster than previous similar AcuRite devices. My only complaint is the lighted USB charging port on the front of the display. Even when the display is dim, there is too much light coming from the port. I solved this by inserting a USB A to USB C adapter into the port to block all the light.

Buy it
I bought this mainly for time, indoor temperature and humidity. Also wanted the front usb charging. Has worked perfectly. After setting it up I haven’t had to touch it. The learning of weather has popped off today. The weather has been more reliable than the weather apps.

has all the perfect features
So many things I love about this alarm clock:1. Alarm settings are very intuitive, so it's very easy to set the alarm. I've had some so complicated I just gave up and returned it or moved it to another room2. Display lighting can be adjusted, I like mine very dim and it will dim nicely. Tap it on the top and it brightens up for a few seconds.3. Alarm is very gentle. It starts at a very soft beep, but will get progressively louder if it isn't turned off. Most alarms are annoyingly loud and obnoxious.4. Shows the inside temperature, humidity as well as outside temperature and weather. My weather sensor went bad after awhile and before I couldn't find a replacement, however, I noticed you can now purchase just the weather sensor so perhaps this is a non-issue.5. There is a USB port in the front for charging devices. I've read some reviewers say they wish it was in the back and I agree, that makes more sense (plug not strung out in front of clock, light comes from the USB port when not in use, etc..), but this is a minor issue to me.6. With this clock, if power is lost, when it comes back on and automatically resets the correct time. This is huge for me as I am so fearful of not getting up in time for work (I have a back up alarm clock). My husband has to reset his and has missed an alarm because of this when there is a power outage in the middle of the night. My only issue is not with this particular clock but with all atomic clocks. They claim to be accurate and they are initially, however, every one I've had slowly gains time. This one has gained about 5 minutes a year. The one I have now is almost five years old and it runs 25 minutes ahead and I can't figure out how to reset it, I honestly don't think you can reset these clocks. So every 4-5 years I end up replacing these. I am getting this exact one because of all the features I've listed above. All in all, it's totally worth it.

Great weather clock for kids, or anyone
My son was always asking how hot or cold it is outside so here was the solution! This is the perfect little weather clock. It is very colorful. It is easy to read--bright during the day and dimmed at night (automatically). You can configure how dim you want it but not the times (9pm to 7am)--but these times work for us.I liked the USB port for charging things in the front. The fact that it is lit makes it easy to find at night. The fact that it is lit can also be annoying as the port is a little too bright. I solved that by making a little USB-shaped plug for it when not in use to muffle the light, so all is well.Note that the manual states that the outdoor sensor should be kept out of direct sunlight and out of rain. Not being in the sun makes sense as that might skew the temperature reading but not being rain-proof makes it a bit of a challenge to find a good place. Hopefully you have a shady porch like I do.

Ease of use and lots of technology for the money...
I have shopped regularly at Amazon since it was no more than a glorified book store and this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review of a purchase. After being disappointed with two previous weather station/alarm clocks the AcuRite totally surprised me with its ease of use and how much technology it contains for relatively little money. Talk about an easy setup...although it does not link to the atomic clock like some models, the instant I plugged this baby in it registered the exact time and date. The only things I had to manually set were the alarm time and the degree of screen brightness I wanted. Both were no fuss, no muss. The indoor and outdoor temperature readings seem accurate but the little guy requires a week or so to “learn” and compute a number of local variables before it will provide an accurate forecast. And as a very thoughtful added touch the AcuRite provides a handy lighted port to charge my cell phone. What’s not to like?

Not a good design
I don't like much about this clock except for the ability to view the outside temperature. The atomic clock is always a few minutes off. Troubleshooting says you should move it to a window so it can get a better reading but who wants their alarm clock in the window? There is no button to manually adjust the time so it is never correct. The on/off button is stiff and difficult to get to stay on. There are times it doesn't go off in the morning because of the stiff button that slips back to off. The alarm is supposed to start quiet and gradually increase in volume to wake you up gently, but the first sound is louder than I want and increases in volume quickly so you have the same jumpy feeling as any old alarm clock. There are no options to control the volume or tone of the alarm.I did an online chat with customer service because I am tired of dealing with a clock that is never correct. I sat waiting for 10-15 minutes to get a first response, and then would have to sit a few minutes between each response from the acurite employee. She directed me to a link that had nothing to do with my problem. Eventually, she offered to send me a new clock because it is under warranty but reading the other reviews, I realize it is the same with all of these clocks so a new one won't be any different. I will not buy from this company again.
