Great drives, mine were under warranty through the end of 2022
Data Center drives are built far better than a standard concern consumer drive, they are often faster than consumer drives and these are very quiet.mine where used but actually never installed, zero hours.

So far, so well
I had to replace two other Seagate Constellation drives that failed way ahead of their time. Purchased two of these drives based on other's reviews and am already noting that they are performing much better than the other Seagate drives ever did. I regularly clone the information from my main drive and periodically test the cloned drive. No problems at all to date. I have an ASUS motherboard and Intel CPU, and use a Windows operating system.

Wicked fast compared to user and NAS grade HDDs. ...
Wicked fast compared to user and NAS grade HDDs. Rivals many of the lower end SSDs for speed, and the workload meets my needs for DVR with SageTV.

Great drive
I bought two of these, to rebuild a RAID1 array on server. drives performed quickly and came up without a glitch. By the next day one drive failed and my array was degraded, this was about 2 weeks ago and the working drive is running brilliantly. I'm hoping this failed drive is an anomaly and risking purchasing another.

Don't expect a full warranty
The listing describes an Exos drive, but what I received was an Enterprise Capacity drive. The part number is the same, but the Exos-labeled drives are newer production. Read on to see why this mattered.I ran a warranty check on the drive's serial number as soon as it arrived, and found there were six months missing from the expected 5-year warranty. Seagate customer support originally promised to extend the warranty to its full term, and then reversed themselves when they discovered Amazon only fulfilled the order for a marketplace seller. They recommended I purchase a drive "from Amazon directly" if I want my full warranty. Well, Amazon doesn't sell this drive directly; only through marketplace sellers.I returned the drive and bought a WD Gold instead. The Western Digital website didn't pick nits about where I bought the drive, and gave me my full warranty term immediately.I can't speak to the drive's performance, because Seagate's poor support immediately made me regret my purchase, causing me to return it and go back to WD.

Economical drive for heavy use
This is a bare 3.5” hard drive built for heavy use. The 3.5” form factor means the drive will fit in a desktop or an external drive enclosure (like a RAID backup device), but it definitely won’t fit in a laptop. The drive runs at 7200 rpm (rotations per minute) and has data throughput at 6Gb/s. It is rated for 2 million hours and comes with a 5 year warranty. While the drive is optimized for large storage operations such as servers in data centers, it will also work in any standard desktop computer or external drive case. Since this is a bare drive, it does not come with connection hardware or installation instructions. In order to use this drive, you need to know how to open your computer, connect power and data cables to the motherboard, and format the drive, or how to install a bare drive into an external drive enclosure (your drive enclosure may come with installation instructions).I got this drive to replace a drive in an external drive enclosure that had gone bad. Some drive enclosures are rough on drives, especially if they claim that the drives are hot swappable. If you don’t have the connections just right (or even if you do) and you power up, whoosh, the drive crashes permanently. This is especially a problem with cheap drive enclosures. After the most recent crash, I started using Pluggable enclosures. This drive has worked well in my 2-slot Pluggable enclosure with no issues. And if it does crash, there is always the 5-year warranty, but hopefully, I’ll never need to look into that.In the past, I’ve had issues with Seagate drives shipping from Amazon in hopeless packaging so that they arrived damaged. I was glad to see that this drive was packaged well, in an anti-static bag in a tight cardboard case, with lots of bubble wrap, and then put in a tight fitting Amazon box. So, no problems with packaging this time around.

Not in the original box?
Be careful, this hard drive arrived not in the original box, I bought it as brand new. Is it full price for something used? Interesting.
