I am reviewing the Nutricost Essentials Pure Epsom Salt 8 LBS (100% Pure Magnesium Sulfate) - Relaxing Soaking SolutionNutricost is one of my preferred brands, so I was happy to review this item. Typically, I buy my Epsom salt in a bag, which I flatten as I use it, keeping extra air and moisture out. This comes in a resealable jar. I like it because it is less likely to be punctured and certainly better to look at. But, I am concerned about moisture.This is just the Epsom salt with no additives. The 8 lb container sells for $25, or $3.12 per pound. My usual brand of pure Epsom salt, purchased at local retail, comes in an 8 lb resealable bag and sells for $7, or $0.88 per pound. This product is three and a half times the cost of my usual brand. A national brand is available for $0.98 per pound.I will not buy this because of the excessive cost.

This is an 8 lb jug of plain Epsom Salt. It's more finely ground that most of the salts I've used which helps it dissolve in bathwater faster. That is a plus for this product, but one major negative is the price. It is just the Epsom Salt [magnesium sulfate], no additives such as essential oils or anything added to it, but it is priced to come out at $0.20 per ounce! It worked about as well as most other epsom salts I've used, so nothing really special that would warrant such a high price. If the cost wasn't enough to turn me off to this brand, the quality of the packaging would. The jug, which is plastic, arrived with a crack in the edge of the lid which I did not notice until the plastic security seal was removed. Needless to say, I won't be getting this again.

This is a great value for good quality epsom salt.

This 8 lb container of pure Epsom Salt by Nutricost is excellent. The jar is plastic but has a nice simple look to it. The Epsom salt is of very nice quality. I usually use about a cup in my bath to help after long runs. I have long been a fan of having a bath with Epsom salt to aid with weary muscles. This is a nice size jar that will last a good while.

Nutricost Essentials Pure epsom salt 8 lbs magnesium sulfate. Expiration date on the bottom reads 4/2027, almost 3 years out. This large jar arrived like-new with a thick inner seal. This Epsom salt is finer grained than I expected, which I really like. It dissolves quickly in my hot bath and is very soothing to my sore muscles. I think the value is very good for the large quantity you get. So far I have no complaints. I will update here if I have anything else to add.

I got this for soaking (mostly) and for cleaning (occasionally). It is a very large jar but when compared to other brands for pure epsom salt, it is rather pricey. Mine came kind of clumpy already, but that is typical for epsom salts so I am not too concerned. It dissolves quickly, which I like. This will last me a long time.
