It fit our budget, intended use, and our van
We grabbed this tent to keep in our pop-top camper Van that we use for camping, adventures, mountain bike trips, etc. The tent isn't meant to be our primary sleeping area since we can sleep four in the van but there are some amazing nights while out on the road that you need to sleep out under the stars and this tent was perfect for those nights. With that said, we weren't too concerned about weight, although, at this price point, 5lbs is very acceptable. We weren't too concerned about durability since it won't get used all that much but we did somewhat pay attention to the packaged size since every square inch in our van is valuable. The tent is pretty standard affair but with Bear's name on it, we felt it at least had some vetting by him or at least his people before it was released on the market. At this price point, I had hoped that the tent would have had two doors so that each of the two people sleeping in the tent had their own access. These newer style tents that don't require feeding the tent poles through sleeves are great and so easy to set up. I saw one of the videos where the guy was suggesting that the nylon at the top to tie the poles together was an afterthought - I disagree - that's pretty standard for tents of this style and price point. It's an important feature so that the hook inside of the tent at the top is supported and can hang things like lights.Overall the material is good, again at this price point. The zippers are good. The mesh is great for those amazing nights under the stars. The rainfly does its job as well. I do appreciate the two vents built into the fly, although they are a little wonky - I suppose it does help vent the hotter air trapped in the top of the tent.Overall it's a great tent and fits our budget, intended use, and our van. Again, we won't be using it all that much but if it should start to fail us sooner than expected, we'll be sure to report back and update this review.

Two cuddle bugs or one average Joe
This tent is a good build quality but a tad on the small side such that it's not suitable for an above average height male (5'10", right?).I'm 5'10" and pretty much max the tent out with my length and sleepingbag fluff.Setup is simple, even if it's not a "quick" deployment style. Lay it out and clip the clips to the poles. No big deal, even alone after dark. The tent without rainfly would be perfect for dark sky viewing or Yosemite falls in the warm months. with the rainfly you increase the heat inside, but you get a defacto vestibule. It appears to be taped well.I'd be nervous using it without a footprint. Any old tarp with a good thinkness should do, just stake it down well. The reflective paracord on the zipper pulls is helpful after dark so you don't have to fumble around too much trying to find the zipper.Overall I'd compare the quality to an REI branded tent. Not the best, but good and affordableish.

Lightweight and sturdy. Will barelly fit a low height cot
We used this for a long cross country road trip in all sorts of weather and it did its job well. It was a bit difficult to get the cot in, it had to be assembled inside but it did work.On colder nights there was some condensation inside from breathing but it never let rain water in at all. This packs very small, it would also be great for backpacking because of the low weight.Overall we were very happy with it, it proved to be sturdy and kept the weather out.

Sorry, pass on this tent
Unless it's in your budget, maxed out...And you are less than 5'8, you can do better in both weight savings and tent materials and design.I used to use a USGI Litefighter. Which is the same basic design but a better rainfly. Those run you $400. (Lowest bidding, amirite¿)This thing, first up, not all the clips for the poles are sewn in nicely. We'll, 1 is a problem, and that's THE problem.I would have DX'd this thing right out of CIF.Next, it lists the floor as 81". If my head is in a corner, check out my legs. Neither your head nor your feet should touch the tent wall. You will get wet in mere dew. Let alone rainfall. To be fair, I'm 6'4, and even the Litefighters were limiting, but they were a bit wider also.Rainfly has an appropriate seam seal strip, but these invariably peel.Nice stakes. Pointed, with nice rings on top. 10x. Solid. Probably the best thing in the kitchen.Ok guy lines. I feel like it should be paranoid, because survival, right? Cheap plastic hooks.Nice vents on top, selectable.I couldn't find a product listing or instruction train for the 4 olive drab tabs at the shoulder corners as photo's. Maybe gear clips or more guy lines.I would pass. Sorry, Bear. Cute show for kids, which is who will use this tent in 2 seasons, when mostly dry. This is a cheap tent mass-produced in China at low quality and unbranded for quick bucks.
