My 12 year old parrot is happy in his own large cage, but is very family orientated, and leaving him at home during short mini breaks is tough. So my hope is, although he hates New Things, I might get him familiar with a new, portable cage, so he can come away with us. And also, in summer, come out into the garden in a portable cage.So, I didn’t like the look of most cages in the market place, flimsy looking. But this one looked a tough beast in the advert. And indeed it is, lovely strong steel frame. You don’t get the feeling that if it got knocked in transit, or dropped by accident, that you will suddenly have a collection of bits of wire and an escaped bird!This looks like it would withstand most accidents.It may be a touch more expensive than a lot of the others, but you get what you pay for. You would like to think you only do this once, so it’s a bargain for the money.Also, sometimes when the blurb for things like this say Easy To aassemble, I flinch, and think yeh right,But this was seriously simple to assemble, and didn’t take long at all.It looks excellent once assembled, good sturdy walls, big strong handle, and a sturdy base, with a tray that slides out for when you want to clean it etc.There’s a perch to put in, but depending on your bird you might want to add a couple of other things. There’s plenty of room for that inside.Very pleased with this, and our parrot is gradually adjusting to seeing it sat next to his own main cage. Eventually I hope to get him to go in, without getting stressed, before too long.Thanks, great cage.....And an update!My parrot is a bit wary of anything New. I guess all parrots have their own personality so I can’t guarantee the same thing will happen with yours as happened with mine, but, here goes....First thing I did was put the new portable cage next to his big one that he lives in. It took some time to familiarise him with it, in that he wasn’t scared of it, which he always is of new things. He’d avoid flying near it for a month or so. Then after that he wasn’t bothered by it. After a few months I started leaving the door open, and manhandling him into the cage, then letting him straight back out thirty seconds later. Did that for a few weeks. Then in the end he started to be put in with no fuss. Then after a few more goes. Closed the door on him one time, and at last he was portable! Since then, he is fine with this cage, he comes out into the Garden in summer to get some air, and see the birds and planes flying overhead. And he has been on short holiday breaks with us a few times now, so he isn’t left home alone any more. He sleeps in the back end of it, as I have fitted two small perches inside to complement the wooden one that came with it, which was also fine.The cage is a wee bit heavy, but absolutely portable nonetheless. I wouldn’t want it any other way, cos it’s rock solid, and would withstand a serious drop accident if that ever happened there’s a good chance it won’t disintegrate.Delighted with this cage, my parrot now goes everywhere with us when we go away in the U.K. to holiday cottages etc.

Item arrived as described. Really easy to put together and is a nice sturdy cage. Perfect size for my african grey and she stepped straight in it to have a look around! Its not too heavy either. Really pleased with it!

Perfect carrier, easy to assemble.

Bought this for my African grey to sit safely in the garden and also if I need to take her with me anywhere. Very easy to put together very sturdy comes with perch and two dishes . I’ve seen these double the price and no better than this one . Molly is very happy with mommies purchase

Was initially worried cage might be larger than expected however turned out to be perfect as a travel cage or short term usage. Assembly is very simple and the quality of the materials is fantastic. Feeding pots are a little tight fit on mine, but sortable. Considering I've seen similar perspex travel cages; half the size; twice the cost; this is extremely good value for money. Will be a little small for really large parrots like Macaws, or larger breeds of Cockatoos, but for most others its a good size.

Cage is of good quality but is different to what is pictured. The lock which is important is a cheap nasty one compared to what’s pictured and the only reason I purchased it in first place.

Had to replace a plastic pet carrier as bird had started chewing the wores. Heavier than I expected, but still fine for short trips, to the car and then into the vet etc. Very sturdy and easy to fit together, did find the handle on top was a bit flimsy so be careful there. Plenty big enough for my ringneck to sit in and turn around, and the bar spacing is fine for the budgies too, so can have them outside for some sunshine. Overall very pleased and great value for money.
