Having lots of fun being creative
I've always enjoyed doing various types of crafts but had never tried metal working until recently. I found this furnace and decided to give it ago. It is pretty easy to use and heats up quickly. It comes with a couple of different size crucibles which you can choose the appropriate size for what you want to do. I think that the design is well thought out, and it works great. It seems like it will be very durable and should last me for a very long time. I have been enjoying melting down various types of metals and seeing what I can create from them. I think it was well worth the money and will keep me busy for a long time to come.

Easy to use
I wanted to start smelting my own items out of metal so I bought this device. It definitely is well constructed metal furnace and easy to use. All I have to do is plug it in and turn it on and it heats up fairly quick for an electric furnace. Throw your metal in and use the included tongs to pull the graphite insert out and pour your metal. I'm excited to make all kind of different things with this, I just need to learn how to start using sand to pour in.

It's good for 1 run
I plugged it in a 110 power point.Turned it on and it sparked and tripped the breaker.I plugged it in to a separate outlet and it worked..once.I used it to melt silver,it did great.Turned it off,let it naturally cool down.Tried using it the next day and it will not heat up.So aggravated but on to bigger and better furnaces.

Use a steel plate to set your molds on!
So far, I absolutely love this furnace!A few tips from my experience: definitely preheat your molds before pouring—it makes a big difference. On the first day, I started with aluminum since it’s a bit easier to work with in my opinion. I initially set the furnace to 660°C, but the metal wasn’t as fluid as I expected and didn’t pour smoothly. Once I increased the temperature to 1000°C, it melted perfectly and was much easier to work with.On the second day, I tried copper. Unfortunately, I didn’t preheat the mold long enough, and during the pour, the copper splattered—droplets jumped out and left small burn marks in my concrete driveway. That was definitely a user error on my part!Safety note: Always wear goggles and use the heat-resistant gloves that come with the furnace—they’re essential. I also recommend placing your molds on a steel plate during pouring, especially if you’re working on concrete, because the intense heat can damage your floor.

Great for beginning smelters
Long time scrapper, first time smelter here. I wanted to start increasing earning potential by trying out melting copper and gold. Pretty easy to get set up and not too heavy to move around. Overall though, its a lot easier to use than I expected. Heated up and melted the metal pretty quickly. The process is a little scary at first if you are new to smelting, sonic you are new, this is a good place to start. Nice for beginners.

Great furnace for jewelry making
Works as advertised. I lost my wedding ring and decided to make new ones for my wife and I. So, I learned how to do it and bought all the stuff to do it. I tested copper then silver before doing the actual ring in gold. This melted all the metal in a reasonable amount of time.

Good but could be better
The overall impression is ok, there are some features that need improvement. The user manual needs to be simplified, once mastered it's easy.Add a link to a video showing setting temp. The book says max is 1150 c initially it would not adjust to over 1100 cNow it sets to 1200c and melts copper easily, the seems accurateThe lifting tongs are almost unusable. They are so stiff it takes two hands to open themone side turns when open very unsafe and it take two hands to grip crucible. Also very short, when using two hands you're very close to 2000c copperI found that metal needed to be added during the melt as the larger crucible onlyholds about 1lb smashed copper tubing before meltThey could keep the gloves; one size does not fit all and the small mold.Very cool toy, small but worth the money, so far.CAUTION IT STAYS VERY HOT FOR A LONG TIME.

Easy to use
This furnace is easy to operate, with simple temperature controls, easy to follow instructions, and it works off house current through a regular outlet. It heats up to 1150 degrees Celsius so it has the ability to melt a wide variety of metals. It comes with two different sized crucibles so you have the right tool for the job you are doing. I love that it came with heat resistant gloves that will work for most adult sized hands. I really like that the parts that wear out (like the breaker and the resistance wire) are easy to find replacements for, so this unit should be able to be kept running easily for many uses. I am very new to this, but I am very happy with this furnace for what I want to do with it.
