Solid, easy to install
I wanted an outlet where the bathroom exhaust fan switch is, and this switch served its purpose. But you need to make sure that you have a neutral wire where the outlet box is. most light switch box would only have two wires which won't work. So check your switch box before ordering. You should see 4 wires (neutral, hot/line, load, and ground).

Look for installation instructions in box
No instructions came in the box. Shipper said they would e-mail instructions. Have not installed yet till we get instructions. Would be foolish and possibly dangerous to install without instructions. The description online says it includes directions, so it is missing one of the key components of the product. Maybe this is not important to some people, but it is important to me.Update : The shipper responded very quickly with an e-mail and a PDF that took 9 pages to print detailing all the warnings and safety precautions to pay attention to before installing.A Note To Amazon: If this review is not allowed because of " packaging " ?? then you may revise it or throw it away. I still think it is important to have directions when dealing with electricity.

Perfect switched GFCI outlet.
I installed this as a switched GFCI outlet for a Toto Bidet. The Bidet has been working on an extension cord for three years and this was a perfect solution to eliminate the cord under the door! Turning the switch off is perfect for when we are cleaning the bidet. This is a self monitoring GFCI, but you should still test on a routine basis.

Steady Green (good) with Red blink while still Green (two lights)
From Customer service since I had never seen this "testing feature" The one issue I would have is the instructions around this topic are limited or vague. They need to be more specific on their comments on the "red blink every 30-35 seconds---- testing feature. Very vague as they have it currently written.Thank you for contacting us.I sincerely apologize for the trouble you endured using this product, as that is never the inconvenience we wish for customers. We offer a one-year warranty and will help you solve the problem. If the red light is blinking slowly, it means that the GFCI outlet is self-testing.It will conduct self-testing every 30-40 seconds to ensure GFCI protection works properly; when it detects a ground fault, the outlet will trip and quickly stop electricity flow to prevent serious injury. When the red indicator light is always on, it means that the outlet can no longer provide grounding fault protection. So the outlet is in safe operation, please feel free to use it.And yes, the situation you described is the test feature. The green light should stay steady. If you have any questions in the future please let me know.I am always happy to help!Sincerely,DanaDewenwils Customer Service

Dangerous and misleading
This product has a misleading flaw, and the instructions have a dangerous error. This product is supposed to be a 20 Ampere 125 V GFCI.Problem 1. The description shows and describes a SPST switch. The on-line specifications and description do not provide any specifications for the SPST switch. Nowhere on the Amazon listing does it specify that the switch for the 20 Ampere GFCI is only for a maximum 6 Amperes of current. On page 07, under the Warning section, it states:"In this wiring configuration, only appliances rated for a voltage of 125 V, a current of less than 6A, and a power rating of less than 750W can be plugged into the GFCI outlet."As I was preparing to send the unit back for a refund, I found these small letters on the side of the box under:"SpecificationsSwitch Input 125VA 10A 60Hz"I found this issue because the wires for the switch were quite thin. I measured them at AWG #16, which does meet the requirements for a 20 Ampere circuit. #12 AWG is required and recommended needed for 20 Ampere circuits. The second incorrect issue is on the Page 02 showing the Back View diagram wiring instructions. It states on the right side of the illustration:"LINEWhite terminal (silver):Connection for the LINE cable's black wire."Lastly, I thought these would be perfect for my application. I ordered a second one before even opening the box or installing either unit. When I tried to send them back, it would not recognize that I had purchased the second unit. Therefore, still have not returned the second unit. This is similar to a problem I recently had when I ordered some computer cables. One set was what I ordered. The second set came as a set of dog collar training shockers. I attempted to return them, but didn't get a refund because I was told I didn't return the correct product.
