These are heavy duty shears for shearing farm animals like sheep, goats, and alpacas, NOT FOR PETS!These are very heavy, loud, run hot, and extremely sharp, exactly the way they are supposed to work and they way all other much more expensive shears work.I have an expensive pair of shears that I mainly use on my wool sheep; however, since they get kicked, dropped, and stepped on by animals when shearing, they occasionally break. My backup pair which are ancient, finally gave up the ghost, so I needed new backup shears for when I'm getting parts in for my main pair. These fit the bill perfectly.The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is:1) I expect it will be impossible to get spare parts for things that typically wear out/break on shears, like the gears and the switches. So consider these as disposable when they break. This is why these are a backup pair and not my main pair.2) The tension knob kept needing to be tightened. On good shears once tension is set, you just leave it. I suspect the spring under the knob isn't strong enough to hold the knob in place, but in any case, you have to tighten it back down occasionally while shearing an animal. A nuisance but not a show stopper.

Item works as described and saved alot of time on trimming. Our Bernedoodle has a thicker coat so this was especially important to be able to shorten the trimming time. Blades are very sharp as described and shave nicely. Pretty impressed so far.

Seems fine , used once and got a first time sheep shearer I thought the shears weren’t difficult to use. This one is corded with a long cord. The hair was really dirty and it cut just fine.

Too heavy!! And too noisy… I returned it….
